Finally had a chance to see this (Netflix, DVD).

Was quite good overall, covers most of the book, and only has a little bit too much Hollywood love-sex thing going on. Didn't know Marinovich had been shot three more times after the incidents in the book. Bad luck. Of course, things ended up even worse for Silva though have read that he still plans on going out once he's able to use his new legs better.

Oddly, the only things I noticed a bit out of context was the use a bit too modern haircuts and sunglasses for 90s South Africa. I also shuddered a little of the line where Ryan Phillipe says "It's bang bang". Otherwise, pretty decent flick.

I believe the sequel will be called Debbie Does Durban.

I don't have any interest in sequel movies as they ruin the grace of the movie .

Haven't seen the movie or read the book, for my sins, but, given everything that happened since, methinks the book is more of a first chapter.
