That makes me feel really old.
There were only a few albums that blew me away when I first heard them and Unknown Pleasures was one of them. I was in high school, the album was already five years old and I layed down on the carpet in my bedroom and listened to "She's Lost Control" It was very odd because it sounded both loud and muffled, I later learned that this was because of Martin Hannit thinking all sounds were wrong. Drums were too loud so he recorded them on a roof ..that sort of thing.
The other album was Rum Sodomy and the Lash by the Pogues and Petrified Conditions by BPeople. Turned out that BPeople was supposed to open for Joy Division on their US tour that never happened. Since Bpeople hated each other and were only staying together to go on tour the death of Ian Curtis ended up ending another great band that hardly anyone has heard of.
