The Black Flag Cafe is the place travelers come to share stories and advice. Moderated by Robert Young Pelton the author of The World's Most Dangerous Places.
I was hoping for more scantily clad nerd-chicks walking around, but alas its the same old fare of overweight stormtroopers and grown folks pretending to be vampires. I cede the floor to the master of nerd baiting:
How hilarious is it that you can dress-up in a plastic costume, dye your hair purple and wield a lightsaber.......yet still be called a man because of your largely useless penis.
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.
I wonder where they found all the clones to stand in that line ?
"If you sit still the birds shit on you, even Buddha, life's short so get out there and do something" "My life has no purpose, no direction, no aim, no meaning, and yet I’m happy. I can’t figure it out. What am I doing right?" Snoopy
Oh, I had fun at the parade! My friend is in the Marching Abominables so I was with them, they just gave me some kind of wooden percussion instrument with ridges on it that you rubbed with a stick. Which is perhaps a metaphor for my largely useless penis, or something. I wish DragonCon wasn't so blasted expensive or I would have totally gone.
"4 cylinder Camaro=communism" El Presidente
"You can smoke salmon but it's not quite the same as smoking heroin." nanuq
Theres a simmilar event every spring in Seattle, called Sakura Con, thats primarially anime oriented, but it has a lot of nerd crossover.
I go there every couple years, primarially to network with other photographers. You would be surprised how interesting a convention like that can be. Especially with a head full of acid.
