I normally don't bother with forwarded emails, and delete them on sight, but this one struck me with a rather great question.

I have a question...

When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? To surrender dreams - -this may be madness; to seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness! But maddest of all - -to see life as it is and not as it should be.

so i was taking this Advanced Hunter Education class today and they were going to teach us how to clean our big game, only the goat got away so they did a demo with a paper bag with a balloon inside. what i wanna know is with all those hunters around, how did the goat get away?

at least they fed us. i think i had at least 10 different types of critter for lunch.

I thought the school girl underwear dispensers got banned. A new law was created a few years back that banned the sale of used items in vending machines.

Snopes says it's not the same arch. Both have been used as props in tentacle porn, however.

A demo with a paper bag and a balloon. I hope you got your money back. So far, I'm not entirely impressed with the Advanced San Francisco Hunter community. I dread to think what the basic class is like. Sorry, our chicken escaped.

Seeing as how the colonials appear to be bumbling fools let me help you with some ancient wisdom from the northern tribes of Britain. All you need to know is here - just get it all printed out on the printers at work to save on ink. Pretend it's maths stuff. You'll find the most pertinent bit under Carcass Preparation/Gralloching (what we call gutting of deer over here.

Can't beat hands on with an old sweat to help you though.

oh, i got my money's worth. the class was cheap, and most of it was spent on cooking lessons. so i got to spend the morning watching manly game wardens cooking up loads of different meats, and then watch them wash up. delicious on all accounts.

they did have some freshly dispatched birds for the demo. seems like a lot of work for so little meat.

got chatted up by one hunky game warden, no chickens though. i feel a double entendre coming....

thanks for the link, will start studying tout de suite!

At 16 my friends daughter has "gralloched" over 20 deer. She's nearly twice as fast I am at it. (She's 19 now).

550,000! The Nazis used to struggle to get those kind of numbers in a season. Reminds me of during our foot and mouth crisis not all that many people culled several million head of cattle in pens and fields. I knew at least one guy who did it with a 357 revolver. 12-18 hours a day for weeks on end. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Reload. Repeat until herd is gone. Move to next one. Carry on. Approx 10M beasts were culled so we're told. Many of those guys hung up their guns afterwards.
Some were fairly traumatised by such industrial scale slaughter.

Did I unwittingly set off a Texas vs San Francisco ancient hatred? As for birds, much as I like venison, give me a brace of wild mallard any day. I'm getting hungry! Glad it wasn't a dead loss of a day - about time you met a decent hunky outdoorsman instead of all these cityboy barflies with ambiguous sexuality.

No,no (excluding Austinites) I'm one of the few Texans that enjoy the vegan bastion of limp wristed anti-hunting San Francisco. At least in small doses.

As for mallards, the yankee forester I contract with slaughters a bunch every year and gives them all away , he hates the taste.
I have never shot one but I love duck meat.
