a calf-length mink coat, but all I can come up with is that his son was openly gay and perhaps that's a hereditary thing.
Anyway, I realize you canbe anti-abortion and not a true misogynist, but that's not what this guy is about - he wants
women who get abortions to be charged with first degree murder and executed, I'm pretty sure he said women shouldn't
vote, etc etc. And.... just not an alpha male, is he.
And let me be clear here. I'm distinguishing between your day-to-day sexism and being vocally, actively against equal rights for women. You know, like how there are people who tell racist jokes or make subconscious assumptions based on race, and then there are those who join the Ku Klux Klan or skinheads or whatever. Most people, even most women, are going to be a little bit sexist. It's embedded in the culture. Machismo. And there's a big kernel of truth to it - traditional division of labor is efficient, women are on average physically weaker, etc etc. Whatever.
I'm talking about these assholes who say women shouldn't vote, or try to keep poor women from getting access to inexpensive birth control, or try to bring down women using sexism, that kind of thing. Especially the birth control thing. I've always gone to Planned Parenthood for cheap pills/gyno exams, and it's not like they give you a free abortion with every breast screening. Even the offices that give abortions (most of them don't) usually only do that one day a week, the other six days are for medical care. Often there's only one office in the state that provides abortion, because the religious conservatives are powerful politically. Which is just sadistic - what's the point of forcing someone to travel for five hours on either side of an abortion? You're not going to stop her with a fucking bus ride. You're just punishing her.
But that's not even what Planned Parenthood is about. For instance, we were having a party and needed things to put in the piñata, and they gave us free condoms because we were technically helping them distribute condoms. That was their main mission back in the late 1980s early 1990s, remember? The govt was too busy with Iran-Contra and Kuwait to bother distributing condoms, during the AIDS crisis. Besides, these motherfuckers know that you can't make abortion illegal anymore, not really, because the RU486 French abortion pill is one of the most heavily trafficked drug in the Americas, Latin America has that network in place. They'll just include those with the shipments of cocaine and Mexican red-haired ditch weed.
Sorry. I have to rant about this. The GOP is pissing me off. Ron Paul wanted to audit the Fed, cut some departments, roll back the patriot act and military-industrial complex wars, build that shale pipeline thing, and, admittedly, criminalize abortion. But now the whole GOP message is basically, "Abortion, homosexuality, and socialism are sins, and women are supposed to be wives and mothers and trust men to run the show. Fact. Not only have these things demonstrably led to the degradation of society, but God is also punishing us for abandoning his teachings, hence all of our problems. If we just redomesticate women, eradicate taxes and labor laws, and exploit our natural resources as quickly as possible, God will shower us with blessings, like he did back in America's tri-corner hatted golden age, when a Black, Muslim president would have been unthinkable. The end."
Right? Doesn't that pretty much sum it up? I think we can all agree, right or left, that auditing the Fed is an awesome idea, right? But that idea has evaporated in a puff of straw polls. No, instead let's discuss why giving a bunch of bishops a voice in the health care debate makes sense. Sure, there are a lot of Catholic hospitals, so I can see some kind of Church representation, but what about hospital administrators? I bet a lot of them are women.
