The left's devotion to democratic government

Postby Tarkan » Tue Oct 19, 2004 6:29 pm

Sums it up pretty nicely, at least for Australia:

I'd whore myself out just one more time if I knew who to screw to get out of this grind.

The Aussie version of a "Sore Loserman." We had our share four years ago, Tark.

I think you're missing the point you're trying to make, Tarkan.

How so, Coolio? It seemed pretty straightforward.

Title of thread: "The left's devotion to democratic government"

Text of image: "If you voted liberal...I will hunt you down and kill you. I don't know where you live but I'm very good at research."

Dunno, maybe Tarkan saw "liberal" and "kill" and got a little too excited...

coolio - the Liberal party is the right wing party in Australia. The Labour party is the left.

The Liberals just enjoyed an impressive electoral victory over Labour.

I think the dude was just taking the piss. The phrase "I don't know where you live but I'm very good @ research" should indicate that.

Following Dim's brief who's who of Aussie politics lesson to Coolio, what is interesting is how the Liberals are on the left in Britain, the right in Australia and in the centre in Canada.

Renard:

That was the original point, the guy was whining about losing in a democratic vote.

BTW, people can call themselves anything that they like. It's up to the rest of us to WATCH the bastards and figure out what they are up to.

I do find it interesting that the people who want to take away my guns also want to take away my money.

BTW, not only was he whining, but he also defaced SOMEONE ELSE'S property to make his point. The building owner had to pay to get his building repainted, and it probably wasn't cheap.

Ever notice how collectivists are always so willing to make everyone else pay for what they want to do?

I believe Solo said he's neither a Republican nor a Democrat, but I sense an underlying support of the right.

The left wing want my money, my guns and my life. The right wing wants my money, my guns, and my soul.

What is there to choose between?

However, between Kerry and Bush, there is a LOT to choose between, and I trust Kerry a whole lot less than I trust Bush.

I sure as hell won't vote for someone who says that he will put MY country's defense to a "global test."

the Liberals are on the left in Britain

Well, yes and no. They appear to be on the left in Britain since Tony Blair has taken the Labour Party so far to the right. And because they're against the war in Iraq.

But historically they've been more of a centrist party. They're actually called Liberal Democrats, ever since they merged with the Social Democrats, a group of Labour Party rebels who broke away from the right of the Labour Party.

Nowadays they're rather mix-n-match: they have right-wing policies for when they're trying to seduce former Conservative voters, and left-wing for when they're trying to provide a home for distressed Labour voters.
