DO NOT USE onetravel.com EVER!!!!!

I bought my ticket from Indonesia to Japan to the US last week online from onetravel.com, I even got a pretty good deal.

I should have known better

After spending 4 days calling them long distance from Indonesia correcting their mistakes with my ticket I was told today by onetravel.com that they had to cancel my flight because they had to issue me a paper ticket instead of the e-ticket THAT I BOUGHT.

My Conversation with onetravel.com after I received an email from them:

onetravel.com: We could not issue you a paper ticket in Indonesia sir, only if you were in the US. I am sorry, we have refunded your card

Me: (after almost passing out): What? But I purchased an e-ticket from you

onetravel.com: Yes sir, but we can not issue you an e-ticket for this flight, only paper tickets. And we could not issue you a paper ticket in Indonesia because your flight is now only 3 days away, we could only issue you a paper ticket if you were in the US. I am sorry sir,

Me: Miss, why would you let me buy a ticket from Indonesia to the US if you can’t issue paper tickets in Indonesia? You could have sent it 3 day FedEx to me here for only 35 dollars. And I didn’t buy a paper ticket, I specifically ordered an e-ticket, that why I called you 1 minute after I made the reservation on your website.

onetravel.com: We thought that you were somewhere in the US where we could mail you your tickets. And we didn’t think that you were willing to pay 35 dollars just to get your tickets, I am sorry sir we have refunded your card

Me: Miss, why would I buy a “One Way” ticket from Indonesia to the US a week before my flight if I was in the US? And I paid with a Platinum American Express Card, not to sound rude miss – but if someone has an American Express PLATINUM credit card, 35 bucks probably would not have been a big deal. Plus I just spoke to you yesterday, why didn’t you ask me then?

onetravel.com: I am sorry sir, we have refunded your card.

Me: Miss, It is 3 days before my flight! Why did you wait until now to tell me? I have spoken to you every day for the past 4 days because of the other mistakes that you made with my ticket! You could have told me then.

onetravel.com: I am sorry sir, we only issue paper tickets, we have refunded your card.

Me: What? You only issue paper tickets? But I purchased an e-ticket 4 days ago from you. And now suddenly you only issue paper tickets? Why didn’t you tell me that when I called you the other 4 times? I said every time that I spoke to you that I was currently in Indonesia, you even asked me what it was like here. We had a conversation about living in Indonesia, so you knew that I was currently in Indonesia

onetravel.com: I am sorry sir, their is nothing that I can do, we have refunded your card

Me: Miss, Not only have I spent a hundred bucks calling you everyday because of the problems with my ticket, now I have to buy an international ticket 3 days before my flight, do you realizes how much that will cost me?

onetravel.com: I am sorry sir, their is nothing that I can do CLICK!

Me: Hello? Hello? DID YOU HANG UP ON ME YOU FUCKING WHORE?? Hello? Hello? FUCKKKKKK!!!

Then I called back, I won’t write what I said to them here, but you can probably guess

……….. Long story, but I ended up having to buy a new ticket for 500 bucks more from a local “we fuck anyone with a blue passport” travel agency today.

And I had to pay cash!

A one way ticket to the USA bought in cash, purchased by a lone male traveler, that has just spent 7 months living in a Muslim country with no apparent means of income and has a passport full of stamps from every shit-hole in the Middle East and every war zone in the world

I am going to get Raped by the TSA and sent to Guantanamo Bay

Hay, I can understand incompetent employees, but fucking hanging up on me?

Whatever you do DO NOT USE onetravel.com EVER!!!!!

I don't mean to be rude 'sir' but obviously you can afford to buy a one way ticket to the US in cash as you have a Platinum american express card.

That's a really fucked up situation James. Hope everything works out.
And about the visas, I was worried coming back to the US from Afghanistan but customs sent me on my way with barely a bag check (opened ONE bag, moved a teeshirt, asked what Afghanistan was like and said have a nice day).
Totally different story being in Israel with the same Afghan visa stamps. Stripsearch city...

I forgot to mention that BOTH of the 1000+ dollar charges are still on my card (one for the first time they screwed up and canceled it, and second for this time)

Bad luck James is the first time you have dealt with oneway or have purchased tickets with them before?

Yes this was the first and last time

I use sidestep.com to find tickets and they came up with a great deal. I have never had a problem with any of the venders from there ever before. I have literally bought 100 tickets from sidestep.com

Just bad luck this time

It’s not the stamps that would flag me as suspicious, it’s the “one way ticket to the USA bought in cash, purchased by a lone male traveler, that has just spent 7 months living in a Muslim country with no apparent means of income”

I wrote a training manual on profiling once, so I know that I will be stopped

Well, I still have my P.D. ID, maybe that will help

You should post it on Thorn tree. It will probably raise a lot of questions so its better if you post it.

I already wasted 20 minutes of my time 2 days ago calling them direct from Indonesia and blowing even more of my money trying to get them to do exactly that, your friend can go Fuck Himself.

P.S. And are you serious anyway? Who would PM a stranger with their credit card number?
