Car and driver in Colombia?

Postby Chimborazo » Thu Feb 26, 2009 7:23 pm

A friend of mine is going to Bogota in June for a few days, and wants to get a driver so his wife's family doesn't have to cart him around everywhere. Any suggestions on how to get a decent one, and what he can expect to pay? He doesn't want to ask them because they'll insist that he doesn't need to do that.

Thanks.

In the past I've gotten some decent ones through some of the higher end hotels either through the concierge or just buy seeing and chatting with some that are hanging around out front. My pal and I did this quite a bit in the ME and Asia, Africa.

The best of both worlds is a good guide who has a driver and you get the whole package after bargaining. We also always paid for the fuel, that way they'll take you wherever you want to go rather than trying to conserve what they bought via thier funds.

Yummy, Colombian girls.
