Vegas

I am leaving for Vegas in the morning and just looking for some suggestions. We are planing on going down to the Western for a little gaming with the down and out crowd.

If you go to the Bellagio and see a giant chandelier made up of what appears to be glass jellyfish...you can point to it and say proudly "I know the guy who shipped that here."

Yep. He also made really good packing boxes...easy to stack in the truck and sturdy. But they would only take one cross country trip. If they ended up in the warehouse and went out again if the client missed the delivery they would arrive broken.

Then we'd bring it back to Dale and it would be melted down and formed again.

That's all well and good you giant art-fags but where should Devlin and the Mrs. go to fill their souls with Vegas weirdness?

Exploring the tunnels beneath the city would be fun.

Downtown for gambling and The Strip for eating and Dale Chihuly chandeliers.

Plus you gotta dig on the fat people at the slot machines.

I have seen the fancy glass thing at the Bellagio a few years back. I did stand in front of the place and wonder what would happen if a tractor trailer full of liquid soap was crashed into the fountains.

I found out that the .357 String Band is playing on Friday night so I think we will check them out. They are a great example of hardcore kids playing bluegrass.

God I love Vegas.

I've been quite a few times over the past six years. Here's a few things I'd recommend you check out.

Fremont Street. It's cheap to take the bus down there, the light show is fun and they have free live shows, cheap drinks that will fuck you up and some decent casinos.

The Las Vegas Hilton buffet has complimentary beer and wine, only costs about seventeen bucks and is pretty good. We usually start off a crazy night there so we can pregame while we eat dinner. Free beer is never bad...even when it's Miller Lite/MGD.

Improv comedy shows are cheap and usually hilarious, good for a couple hours of entertainment.

The arcade/game room at NY NY is fun to play games and kill some time. They also have a Nathan's Famous there with good pizza and hot dogs. NY NY is a fun casino/hotel. I've stayed there twice and both times we had a blast and it wasn't that expensive.

If you feel like dropping a little extra cash on a good meal I'd recommend Delmonico steak house. I think it's in the Venetian. Expensive but really good and a nice atmosphere.

I've eaten at all the 'luxury' buffets (Wynn, Bellagio, etc.) and some of the cheaper ones and so far the buffet at Mirage is my favorite. It's like 25 bucks and they have tons of great different types of food. First time I went there I ate so much, I threw up later. Also, they have a good sports book. Good as in, every time I went there, I was able to watch football or basketball and drink free the whole time, even if I wasn't gambling. All you gotta do is tip a buck or two every time and you get beers, cocktails, shots, etc. I have been plastered for very cheap in that sports book many times.

Have fun. Vegas is one of my favorite cities. I can't wait to go back when I'm in the U.S. again. :)

First time I went there I ate so much, I threw up later.

Oddly enough, that's exactly the sort of recommendation I want concerning a buffet.
