this is a throwback to my old BFC Bikers thread where those interested have seen me go from "I just bought a bike, now what do I do?" to my currrent state as International Enduro Rider poster boy.
been riding bald for a while now on cheap chinese made tires and tubes that were on the bike when I purchased it used.
Finally able to replace them yesterday with some real tires and tubes (Bridgestone - I don't know if they're a big player in the game but at least I recognize the name and they are made in Japan). Even though my tubes are ok, they are the cheap chinese variety, so I thought I'd get all the new higher quality stuff I could, and just keep the old for an emergency. With Installation and everything, the two new tires and tubes cost me about US$157 (15% tax included), which seems a good price when I was comparing tires from a Canadian website where similar tires were around $100 per. Front is Trail Wing 27 and rear is Trail Wing 44. Online it looks like they have equal amounts of detractors and promoters, with them generally being a decent dirt and pavement tire. The front is 2poly +1 nylon tread and 2poly sidewall, rear is 3nylon tread and 2nylon sidewall. That doesn't mean much too me - again, online no one seems to have strong opinions one way or the other.
out with the old (yes, Friendlyskies, you have been mere milimetres away from certain controlled stops and having to take a cab):
and in with the new:
