This is just generally good advice for ANY piece of equipment that even gets near salt spray or the ocean.

Individual riders who actually make a living riding call these folks "Sunday riders"...

next to impossible. I was unable to find any for a documentary shoot last year (through rental agencies and friends calling around for me). I came up with 3 Harley's from a private individual, but the whole thing never panned out. I think I heard you can rent scooter's over in the hippie gringo hostel area of town, but I haven't seen that myself.
You can buy a cheap Chinese made bike for $700-$800.
