That's pretty cool. Ever have an Alligator fuck with you while kayaking?

I had a gator bump my canoe once in Fla. I had just moved down from the great white north and did not know i would be canoeing with legacy dinosaurs. Fucks sake it was alarming.

Once you get used to them they are not so freaky, but i was new to gator country and thought they all behaved like saltwater crocs. The freakiest was canoeing at night and seeing the luminous eyes observing from all angles.

That would be kind of trippy. How do saltwater crocs behave...now that you mention it? Where are you from in the G.W.N.?

Nah...When I got close, they would just slip off whatever they were sunning on, or if they weren't sunning, but only floating with their whole top portions of their bodies above the surface, they would slowly sink down to their eye sockets only and then slowly submerge from there until they are 2" deeper than the surface or more, where I could not see them at all.

The closest I could get to any of them was about 10' or so.

I've been in the everglades wade-fishing and heard gators croaking, but never did see any of them. It was lots of fun kayaking with them - I saw about 2 dozen or so - most of which I could not get photos of. I also was going to get a picture of a snake sunning (just a water snake - but would have been cool pic anyway), but it dropped off as I was attempting to get into focus with it.

That would have made it an entirely different kayaking experience altogether!

Yeah, they get their junior years in then came back to the States. Seriously, a lot countries do that, but the States are improving. With Gretzky making hockey popular, Brian Burke, etc., the States will be a power house in 4-6 years.
