Christmas this year shall be blow-gun themed with 301 being played on my friend's dart board with the blowguns I have gotten everyone.

darts with blowguns is very entertaining. we had a macguyverish friend who was always fashioning stuff like that. his blowguns were thin conduit piping with a 2-litre bottle spout and electrical tape as a mouthpiece and the darts were wooden skewers tipped with exacto knife blade tips. when he came over to show us he pulled up in his car, saw a rabbit in the front yard, rolled down the window, and proceeded to dart it from the car as we were wondering what the fuck he was up to from our spot grilling on the porch. it was most impressive, if unexpected.

his other inventions included a crossbow where the arrow was linked to a reel that automatically retracted after impact which he used for 'crossbow fishing' (i insisted that it could be made into a grappling hook if he used something a bit stronger than fishing line and got a better motor for the retraction), and a steam roller (the smoking accessory, not the heavy machine) out of flourescent light tubing and a juice bottle.

to keep from getting too far off topic, he has recently decided to start learning how to forge his own tools, blades certainly being one of his predominant concerns.
when they ask how you feeling
you tell em you feeling like something important died screaming
you tell em you feeling like something even more important arrived breathing
something you should probably try feeding

Inventions can happen separately and your friend was not the first one to invent the crossbow reel. They sold them in a department store when I was a kid. Shooting carp and catfish was the only legal way to hunt with a crossbow then (unless you were handicapped).

Still...cool as hell to make your own stuff. A talent I do not have to much of.

That is what I always think about when I see a wounded bird as well.

It went for acupuncture due to the stress of city centre living.
