For mixed drinks, the Gran Reserva, aged 7 years, is usually fine - it's 10x better than any other rum on the general market. But 2:1 maybe the Centenario wouldn't be a waste.

I second this. Isn't Flor the national sport of Nicaragua?

Good lord.

Way back in 2004 or 2005 I first met Vincent (BFC Vincent...there is no other as far as I am concerned) he brought a bottle of this stuff and the remainder of it is still in my apartment. During the last 5 to 6 years my liver has processed gallons of rum, but this bottle remains untouched except as an example of what I like to call "The communist aftertaste"

Some people love the stuff though, Vincent did, but when my Dominican maid decided to sneak a shot of it while cleaning assuming it to be expensive she was so appalled that she confessed her minor crime and was concerned for my well being if I continued to drink such a thing.

I'm with James. Go get a big bottle of Bacardi. Works for me. Mmm... Bacardi, Coca Cola and Mary Jane.

Has to be HAVANA CLUB 15 Year Old Gran Reserva.

Preferably with a can of Tu-Kola and a few cubes of ice, while absorbing the atmosphere and music on the Palaza in Trinidad (Cuba).

Not fair, at least with Candyman you had to say his name a few times.

There is a small distillery in Turks and Caicos called Bambarra. They have an excellent 8 year old and an even better 15 year old called Trouvadore, which was a limited edition that may be sold out. I love this rum! Sadly it's not exported to Canada, and I have no plans to return to TCI any time soon.

You tried that in the pub one time and it didn't work either.
