$0.82/watt!

It's a company based in southern FL, run by a Chinese-American guy named David Lee who has some connections in mainland China.

Two of the 145W panels are approximately the same size in square meters as a single 72-cell 280W to 290W size large panel. Wire them in series for equivalent electrical output (36 cells + 36 cells). The price can't be beat.

Here's David's twitter feed, he's constantly posting different solar power related news:

My hope is that alternative energy someday gets the brainpower that "personal computers" did in the 1970s where they started out as a hobbyist enterprise and then 30 year later came to dominate all computing fields.

PV cells using various materials, in the efficiency range of 18% to 28% are now a known science, the problem is ramping up production to some vast automated quantities that they get as cheap as DRAM ICs.

How long before big business steps in to stop all this?
I'm not really a proper reporter, due to the chronic lack of discipline, negligible attention span, and a certain juvenile difficulty taking serious things seriously.

Well if it makes you happy, fossil fuels were used in the making of them.

Big business stepped in the moment government's offered "Green Incentives" and promptly spent the money and went broke.

The government is already spending trillions and burning up all the fossil fuel it possibly can to make sure we have access to fossil fuels.
