I stayed at Lisa´s guesthouse, downside is that it´s noisy around, otherwise nice rooms with a fan and sink. Lisa is a nice lady, she do your laundry if you buy washing powder. No safety problem for me, I
liked the sandwich bar around the corner and a internet café nearby.

Did you buy any gold Alessandro? Seems to be part of the couleur locale...

Girl friend (note the space) of mine's parents hail from there, very nice person but alas verry hard to keep in touch with. Still hope to see that part of the world (actually: neighbouring French Guyana) without spending money on hotel bills.

Nope not into buying gold, internet works fine in Suriname, so no worries to keep in touch...
