Mothman (what's up with him?)

Postby Ron Mexico » Sun Jun 18, 2006 3:55 am

I was watching TNT today and the Mothman Prophecies was on, starring gerbilman Richard Gere. Apparently, the movie is very loosely based on real events. I decided to google mothman and this particular website came up: http://www.prairieghosts.com/moth.html

Any thoughts, has any of you heard of this phenomena?

I never heard of it before the movie either. The only mothman i'd heard of was mothmonsterman from aqua teen hunger force. It reminds me of the New Jersey Devil and the Chupacabras without the UFO connection. I didn't know that the Men In Black had been involved in it either. I always like MIB stories. They seem to give a story more credibility. I had heard of the Mad Gasser story mentioned at the end of the article though. The website seems to sum up that one pretty well too. It's one of my favorites.

The Mothman prophecies is more to do with the cognitive psychology and manifestation rather than aliens and UFOs.

The film was rubbish but the book is quite interesting.

As is usually the case. Like with the Bible, for instance...

I dunno about that, I enjoyed the Life of Brian more than that bloody old book.....

Brian: I'm not the Messiah! Will you please listen? I am not the Messiah, do you understand? Honestly!
Girl: Only the true Messiah denies His divinity.
Brian: What? Well, what sort of chance does that give me? All right! I am the Messiah!
Followers: He is! He is the Messiah!
Brian: Now, fuck off!
[silence]
Arthur: How shall we fuck off, O Lord?

Cheers Centurion

I don't know why, but "Mothman" just sounds
so much
like a bad Mexican drama.

Shouldn't have coughed to the error Jamsie.
I thought it was quite a clever touch until you admitted the error.

Now your just a loser.

Sorry, thats just how it is.

Exactly. I read the book several months before watching the movie. I enjoyed the book alot, but found the movie to totally suck.
