I heard talk of this phenomenon while up north and it has been used to explain the possible existence of Sasquatch.

Ha!

There is a river near South Indian called Footprint River....apparently there was a manhunt of some sort up there and as this man was close to being caught it turned into a deer and scampered away. It happened in the same area as the so-called Sasquatch sightings.

Indian lore perhaps...or maybe the Peyote culture made it this far north.

More likely white guy lore. I don't know any Indian who makes stupid shit like that up, but I know lots of white guys who do regularly. Silly stories. People see strange shit. Life happens.

The reason why Sasquatch has never been caught is that they have the power to jump to different dimensions. When they are in fear or near death, they leave this form of earth.

Lots of mentions of Shape Shifters in the Norse sagas. They can be used for good or evil. Egil's grandfather in Norway was both a shapeshifter and a Berserke in Egil's saga.

Not sure when the Norse quit talking about shapeshifters. They were at least mentioned in Iceland until about 1300ad but only in the sagas. I am guessing people probably still speculated about thei rexistance some time after that.

Thanks, Cold -- your "empty your pockets" order resulted in me discovering that I had five dollars in my wallet that I didn't know about.

Aside from said wallet, I only have a cell phone and a Post-It note with various airfare prices handwritten on it.
