Mindless mindfulness

Have you ever tried to shut down all thought? Has this happened to you via an act of Providence?

It's a difficult thing to do. If so,what kind of technique can be used to slow down your brainwaves?

Performing constant repetitive action helps. Factory assembly line workers for example have highly developed delta brainwave patterns. Delta = background brainwave rhythms, like 'white noise' of the mind that generally goes unnoticed. This is considered a desirable virtue thats worth achieving.

Louis Hayes (she's a New Age superduperstar who links positive thinking to good health) says that when you have a thought you don't want, you just say, "No!" Out, damn thought. Seems to work OK for me.
