Astrology Nation

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way...

Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities 1859

About the future let me just say, there's a lot of talk about doom and gloom, but I don't believe it. And if I don't see it or believe it neither should you! Granny's Great Depression is not before us! We are moving forwards, not backwards. We are not our grand parents. Why? We know that we are moving into a major alignment that hasn't happened in 26,000 years, that tells us we are moving forwards. We know we have evolved a great deal. Every aspect that occurs in 2009 for instance, the Saturn Ring Plane Crossing, and the Saturn-Uranus opposition, or the Chiron-Neptune conjunction, has additionally, wonderful memories associated with them. Mistakes that were made in the past are not these generations' mistakes. Anyone who experienced the 60's remembers the good times, not the bad. It was a time of enlightenment, not a time of darkness. Maybe we didn't have a lot of money or maybe we did, either way we didn't care! 2009 is another step in raising our consciousness and we will never be the same...and that's a good thing! A time of love, not hatred, a time of acceptance, not rejection, a time peace, not war!

As 2009 begins, Jupiter enters Aquarius, on January 5th 2009 and on January 26, 2009 Annular Eclipse of the Sun occurs at 6* Aquarius. This eclipse is visible from the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans, Borneo, the East Indies, and the eastern Pacific. Excitement over change could be in the air against the backdrop of our own malaise, and personal discontentment. In Aquarius we find like minded leadership, and the mood in 2009 is "Yes we can!" Perhaps we will get another motivating speech as Barack Obama takes office. Followed by the Lunar Eclipse in Leo.

The entire year of 2009 features a Chiron-Neptune conjunction in late degrees of Aquarius, exact in February 2010 at 26° Aquarius; this is the first conjunction of these two since September 1945. Here's what took place during this aspect. Remember though, these aren't our mistakes or decisions...

1945: Feb 4-11 Yalta Conference -- Genesis of the Cold War
1945: March 3AD captures Cologne; crosses Rhine
1945: March/April 3AD battles in Central Germany
1945: May 8 Germany surrenders to Allies
1945: Jul 16 - Aug 2 Potsdam Conference
1945: Aug 6 U.S. drops the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima
1945: Aug 8 USSR enters war against Japan
1945: Aug 14 Japan surrenders -- End of World War II
1945 Nov 9 3AD deactivated in Germany
1945 Wall street Journal claimed that 1945 was the worst year in human history in terms of people killed, houses burned, buildings destroyed, and high explosives set off.
Now that 1945 has come and going we know that the Japanese should have stuck with gadgets and electronics not, teaching people how to be kamikaze pilots and drive airplane into things! We now know that dropping the atom bomb had unforeseen ramifications for years afterwards. I don't foresee that happening again. We are all responsible for the events that have transpired in our own generations.

This aspect could foretell the following:

The Death of an important Religious Leader
This aspect foretells of events in Israel. It foretells that in about 2 years there will be New Country formed perhaps for religious people.

Friday the 13th, 2009: Jupiter in Aquarius conjoins the ubiquitous North Node in Aquarius, in Ancient Astrology this foretold of "an unholy alliance". Perhaps two groups or two countries form an unholy alliance on Friday the 13th, 2009, and wreak havoc in the world. Friday the 13th, 2009, a day or a weekend to watch! The Sun conjoins Neptune and Saturn opposes Uranus for the 2nd time. Mercury would have been retrograde from January 11, 2009 through February 1, 2009 letting things slip through the gaps. However, forewarned is forearmed and Mercury retrograde can be extremely focused when need be.

This can cause erratic market behavior and sesmic activity in the world.

May 27th 2009 Jupiter conjoins Neptune at 26* degrees Aquarius. First of 3 times, keep in mind Neptune is conjoined Chiron in another rare event that hasn't occurred since 1945. Jupiter rules foreign countries or foreign influences, laws, education, religion, influential people and groups. Jupiter also rules, outdated rules and laws and making people adhere to laws, just because. Laws are created to protect and when you make people suffer through laws, then the planet Saturn steps in and of course this is what's going to cause outrage in the world and rioting.

May 27, 2009
July 10, 2009
Dec. 21, 2009
July 7th 2009 Penumbral lunar eclipse 09-39 GMT at 16* Capricorn and July 22nd 2009 a Total Solar Eclipse 02-35 GMT at 29* Cancer. It lasts 6m 39s. Visible from East Asia, Pacific Ocean, Hawaii, Total: India, Nepal, China, Pacific Central eclipse at 02-35 GMT.

Again sesmic activity and volcanos could be indicated by this aspect. A water events can be expected.

August 6th 2009 Penumbral lunar eclipse 01-39 GMT at 14 degrees Aquarius. Financial markets will get rocky about 10 days after this eclipse.

If you have been waiting for that time when you would have a voice and could be heard, then 2009 is your year! You could find your voice and you will find that others share your same concerns too. In 2009 there is strength in numbers! 2009 is going to be a year of extremes. In 2009 we will come face to face with extremism, in the world, globally, in our communities and in our personal lives. In 2009 we will make progress in the areas of health, global pollution, energy and cleaning up corruption in politics and government. We as a people will grow ever more conscious of the important roles we play in our own governments and become watch dogs of how power is used, or abused. The key to 2009 is to remember, Moderation in everything! Balance and moderation when you feel a tidal wave of energy coming towards you or you feel overwhelmed, stand up to it, dig your feet in deeper to the Earth and face it. Much like the last time the planets Saturn and Uranus opposed each other in the 1960's, there was social unrest and an insidious energy that we feared, it manifested as plots, terrorism, escapism, and organized crime. In today's time organized crime exists in different forms like gangs, or terrorists, be they domestic or foreign. What hasn't been spoken about is that this insidious energy be it domestic or foreign can and will take advantage of events like weather, and natural disasters. Remember the planet Uranus rules radical idealism, but also remember Saturn always wins as people even rebels age, and grow old and yearn for more quiet times. As the myth goes Saturn killed his step father Uranus. So this period of unrest has to happen to weed out and finally destroy the radical unrest, make us more conscious of people's rights and perhaps more helpful. Through the Saturn-Uranus opposition we see how difficult it is for us as a civilization to change. Other things that are part of the Saturn -Uranus opposition, as individuals we face things we can't control like, the economy and government, so many people will feel helpless. Uranus rules things like astrology, and the occult. When people feel helpless they are more prone to turn to the occult, magic and spells, to solve their problems, and control their circumstances. Under the Saturn-Uranus opposition though, kinetic energy has already built up to a boiling point, adding to it, only results in more chaos. In the greater scheme of things or the long term this could be what leads to a greater awareness of spirituality in the coming years. Everything gets to the boiling point under this aspect. Until we say "no more" and we submit to the changes or sit down and listen to each other and work together.

Since Uranus rules organized groups, communities and like interests, we will all be challenged to think for ourselves, have a voice, desire to be heard and yet cooperate within our communities, and organizations to achieve change. As long as these group activities don't go too far and become cultish, like gangs and terrorists and take over our individuality, we need to cooperate, organize ourselves for a greater good then disperse. These groups will find a ripe environment to take advantage of people's fears and disillusionments. Part of the attention getting tactics of organized crime will be to take advantage of situations and the downtrodden, there's nothing new there. In places like Haiti, Cuba, California which have been devastated by natural disasters, hurricanes, fires, earthquakes just to name a few, these places or any devastating occurrence is ripe for domestic and foreign terror. Areas like New Orleans, where it's common knowledge that a Hurricane was on its way, terrorists will or have taken advantage and who's to say that it wasn't the hand of a criminal character that did that. George Bush's biggest crime will probably be written in the history books, was not wanting to give credence to the possibility of terrorist's attacks and not wanting to "upset" the public.

This is a notorious terrorist's chart super imposed on the world. Sometimes astrologers study things after they happen, and we like to pretend something or someone doesn't exist or study "safe" characters. In these times however when the planets are clearly telling us all is not well, we need to be bold and brave and study difficult people and make predictions that save lives! Astrology should predict things before they happen, so let's study things that are perhaps a bit edgy or more difficult likes this. Carefully study where this particular person is influential. The attacks on Bombay were said to have come from the North, and we can see this particular radical's Uranus line running through the North of India. What's disconcerting is that these lines run through areas we know to be devastated, by natural events like Hurricanes, so these will be targeted no doubt in the future. Vulnerable times will be taken advantage of and used and exploited. We don't have to be victims. There is strength in our number and just knowing the there's a possibility of something taking place makes us conscious, aware, and ready!

When we talk about the Saturn-Uranus opposition we see that this notorious person's chart is afflicted by this great opposition as well as Neptune and that he will become very brazen in the future. So let's not shy away from studying these charts in addition to "safe charts". We are all human beings, good, bad, ugly and beautiful. In the past we have dealt with radicals, organized crime, corruption, cults and terrorists. During the 1960's we saw assassinations of great leaders, and now knowledge is power. We are stronger in our numbers then them. They have always been around, they will always be around. In 2009 when the aspects are dramatic like Saturn opposing Uranus, Saturn square Pluto, and Chiron conjunct Neptune and we know what has happened before under these aspects in the past then we need to be very vigilant. We can expect more terrorist's attacks and we should be vigilant to the possibility; we should guard our young people all over the world and instill in them the proper values, and the ability not to be led astray. This is what makes us an Astrology Nation! Not bound by borders, but by stars that guide us and forewarn us.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition, is an energy that builds up when we or groups of people feel they aren't being heard. What happens when you are not being paid attention to? You do something extreme, like throw something, strike, and refuse to do anything, or say something that is competely out of character. That's the Saturn-Uranus oppostion. The frustartion of not being heard, or being looked over, negated, frustrated and ignored. When injustices are allowed to go on, people, will do something radical to stop them. This is the Saturn-Uranus oppostion! Here's when the opposition culminates...

Nov. 4th, 2008 Saturn in Virgo 18* opposing Uranus in Pisces 18*
Feb. 5th 2009 Saturn in Virgo 20* opposing Uranus in Pisces 20*
Sept. 15th, 2009 Saturn in Virgo 24* opposing Uranus in Pisces 24*
April 26th 2010 Saturn in Virgo 28* opposing Uranus in Pisces 28*
July 26th, 2010 Saturn in Libra 0* opposing Uranus in Aries 0*
If you think back how many of you as small children got very ill in the 60's? What were you going through? The Saturn-Uranus opposition this time around is just another celestial check up. For many it's a time of personal crisis, which may have their roots in your psychological makeup. You could find yourself remembering things you had forgotten for decades! All your "Daddy" issues could come back to haunt, in order to be reckoned with and purged! It's a time to guard your health and the health of those you love. We don't realize it but the 60's were also a hot bed of science experiments on people and animals! So this could happen once again too, with nuclear energy, radio frequencies, electricity, and magnets. Saturn rules health, hygiene, diet and exercise. Uranus in Pisces rules strange infectious diseases. Unfortunately there will be violence, there's no doubt about it that Saturn opposing Uranus is violent we've seen it already in the past. We don't look at the 60's and remember the violence, but there was plenty. We only think of flower power, hippies, and make love not war, and the freedom social unrest brought. Today it might not be the black panthers of yesterday, but a new breed of discontented youth. They are trying to bring our attention to the injustices they are experiencing, just like in the 60's. The 60's also brought a time of not wanting to interact nationally with other countries, we were afraid of Russia and Cuba, so border control will be a hot issue for many countries, including ours. Nations may want to ignore their troublesome neighbors, which is hard to do in this day and age.

Saturn in a unique tilt that occurs every 14-15 years is showing Earth its Ring Plane. This is called the Ring Plane Crossing, a time when Saturn's beauty is shown to us; it's Moon's revealed to us, its azure blue poles exposed to us. It is Saturn showing itself to us. As we look at the planet Saturn from Earth, Saturn's rings appear as one thin line. As I said before the lines are drawn. Until September 4, 2009 when Saturn is at it's closest to the Sun! These planetary phenomena won't occur again until 2038.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition is as much a time of healing as it is a time of sickness, and angst. It's through our unhealthy times that the most healing can take place. Saturn is the past and Uranus is flashbacks, and no doubt, memories will surface that make you see how much more work you have to do on yourself, before you are healed. But since healing also denoted illness...

Mothers, these are the dates of birth of Children under 12 years old that need to be carefully looked after through 2009. Their planets could be affected by the Saturn- Uranus oppositions in some way. Check their Natal birth charts to be sure or get my new Child Report. This could weaken their bodies and cause health problems and illness. Maybe these children are special in some way or will be instrumental in their own times and for this reason need to be strengthened through some suffering or experience a unique healing in some way. We don't know. Dynamic people throughout time have had to live under the great stress of being different, special or chosen. What seems bad sometimes is necessary to strengthen and give endurance. As children the stress could affect their health. These are the children of the next generation. These are dynamic and influential children and as such must be guarded and protected. It's as much about illness as it is about healing.

As Saturn in Virgo continues in a wide opposition to Uranus in Pisces, it is the Reverse of the past when Saturn was in Pisces and Uranus in Virgo approximately 45 years ago. The social revolution that began in the 60's also had its celebrity "A" list of extremists, activists, and revolutionary thinkers, social and scientific experimenters. So it will be now.

The sign of Virgo rules among other things bachelorhood. Why because the sign of Virgo is fussy picky and analyses organizes things to death. Love cannot live under a microscope where Virgo likes to put things. However, as Saturn‘s last opposition to Uranus this cycle will be in the sign of Libra, The sign that rules diplomacy, marriage and relationships, we could see a change in the way we look at love, marriage and relationships later in the year. As Saturn will enter Libra October 29, 2009 and square Pluto November 15, 2009. The results are forever. It's a time when we need each other and this aspect brings events that make us realize this. It's a potent square because it occurs at the cardinal points. O* Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are the Cardinal Points where the solstices and equinox's occur making this potent and pivotal, not only in world events but, in personal events. These are aspects that cause the world to stand still and be glued to their radios and TV's. The cardinal signs rule large cities.

November 15, 2009, powerful configurations are beginning. As Saturn in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn at 1° 42; while the Moon and Venus join Neptune and Pluto in a septile pattern. The Sun septiles Saturn as well. Fears of terrorism or war are highlighted at this time. This Saturn-Pluto square repeats on January 31, 2010 and again in August 2010. These are key dates in terms of oil shortages, oil price hikes, and international co-operation, making diplomacy strategically important. The increased use of coal raises new concerns about air pollution and accelerated global warming.

The entire year of 2009 features a Chiron-Neptune conjunction in late degrees of Aquarius, exact in February 2010 at 26° Aquarius; this is the first conjunction of these two since September 1945. Here's what took place during this aspect.

1945: Feb 4-11 Yalta Conference -- Genesis of the Cold War
1945: March 3AD captures Cologne; crosses Rhine
1945: March/April 3AD battles in Central Germany

1945: Aug 6 U.S. drops atomic bomb on Hiroshima
1945: Aug 8 USSR enters war against Japan

1945 Nov 9 3AD deactivated in Germany
1945Wall street Journal claimed that 1945 was the worst year in human history in terms of people killed, houses burned, buildings destroyed, and high explosives set off.
October 21st 2009 The Moon occults Antares. This is visible from the United Kingdom. Antares is a Star that influences war!

October 29th 2009 Saturn first enters Libra. This residence of Saturn in Libra will cause many changes during 2010-2011. These years will have the most pivotal effect on humanity and the world.

Jupiter joins Chiron and Neptune in mid December 2009, with an opposing Mars turning retrograde in Leo. This could bring a crisis in oil or energy, if we don't start the year implementing alternative forms of energy!

December 31st 2009 Partial Lunar Eclipse 19:23 GMT at 10 degrees Cancer.

Like all the people before us who experienced these things, we are going to experience change too, that's nothing new. We are empowered though. Empower yourself, be vigilant, be watchful, be your own person, yet contribute something positive to the world.

Something is different this time.

The sixties was the forefront of postmodernism.

This, what we are facing, needs an integral approach. It is going to be a tough, hard, arduous task.

It is going to require brave souls who don't mind the arrows in the back.

I heard she also picked lotto numbers, but some sort of psychic star alignment bullshit got her off-balance during the last few months and she's missed a few winners. I'm hoping there will be a celestial alignment of proper proportions when I go see what my winning numbers are...

Here's more of this year's mundane astrology from my favorite astrologer, Jonathan Cainer.

Latest update:

Once every 45 years, two distant planets arrive at opposite points in the zodiac. As one rises in the East, the other sets in the West. Like heavenly giants, about to engage in a cosmic conflict, they throw down their gauntlets across the horizon.

Saturn and Uranus are not the only planets that ‘face-off’ like this from time to time. But while every tug-of-war produces a passing drama, large duels between such slow-moving dinosaurs have a long-term influence on us all.

One is the planet of order. The other rules chaos. Last November, on the very day that their first full showdown culminated, Barack Obama was elected to the White House. Four more times in the next nineteen months we’ll see a repeat of these conditions.

The Credit Crunch is not, really, a symptom of the current heavenly alignment. It’s more like an old, ongoing, problem that is being exacerbated by the situation, much as a smoker’s regular cough gets worse during a bout of flu!

Our world’s urgent need to cure an insane addiction to credit is a matter of great concern to us all... but really it is just the sub-plot to this year’s soap opera, not the main story. Let us, then, return to it shortly, after properly meeting the two key protagonists in our tale of 2009.

Rising late each evening in Virgo (where it has been for many months) is Saturn. Saturn governs governance! It rules rules. It stands for all that won’t stand for any nonsense. Meanwhile, rising invisibly each morning in the opposite sign of Pisces, there’s even slower moving Uranus - the very spirit of rebellion. Gustav Holst, the great composer, called Uranus ‘The Magician’. By this, he didn’t mean ‘illusionist’. Uranus doesn’t symbolise sleight of hand. It foretells genuine, sudden change. Something out of nothing. The impossible, made possible right, in moments. If you want just one practical example of Uranian magic at work, think of ‘the internet’.

Uranus, in Greek mythology, was the sky god, father of all things. Gaia, the earth goddess, was the mother. Yet Uranus was not kind to his offspring. He kept trying to bury them alive. Until, that is, Cronos came along. Cronos (some today call him Saturn, others know him as ‘time’) did something a little drastic to his father... after which he never rode a bicycle again. Then, he earned the right to create a new Pantheon, eventually led by his own son Zeus (or Jupiter). To this day, we see Saturn as a symbol of laws that must sooner or later cut us all down to size. Not just parliamentary laws but natural ones. Like entropy. Or gravity.

Over many years, the memory of Uranus faded. He became merely a symbol of some more mythical, magical yet chaotic era long ago.

Back in 1781, though, an astronomer called William Herschel looked through his telescope, saw a new planet and named it Uranus after the ancient sky god. Soon after, the first hot air ballon took off. Up, into... the Sky!

The old laws of time and space, as upheld for so long, so unerringly by Saturn, were all about to be gobbled up by a sky god, hungry after several thousand years, for revenge on his son. The law of gravity was just the appetiser. The spirit of Uranus now strode boldly into every domain ever occupied by Saturn, ripping up rulebooks and trashing traditions. The French revolution. The agricultural revolution. The industrial revolution. These, and many more, all bore the hallmark of a primeval conflict between Saturnine order and Uranian innovation.

Astrologers soon observed that that battles between the old and new, all over the globe, followed the pattern of conjunction and opposition between these two planets. I’m sure you cannot, dear reader, remember how the world was in 1965. You simply don’t look old enough. But if you speak to someone who was around at the time, they will tell you how very different it had become by 1967. What happened in between? A Saturn/Uranus opposition.

The Stock market went down. The value of the pound shrank. The establishment felt itself to be under threat as never before. And The Beatles blossomed. And that, really, is my point about 2009. Whatever it’s about, it’s not about economic disaster. It’s about change on a dramatic, radical, worldwide scale. Social change. Political change. Financial change. And change too, in fashion, music, art and theatre.

Once that change takes hold, it will develop its own momentum. And it will finance itself, regardless of what the experts think. We know what they expect. They’re all singing from one hymn sheet like a traditional male voice choir. Not for them though, some rousing chorus of Jerusalem. The endless refrain goes, ‘Doom and Gloom. Doom and Gloom. Doom, doom, doom, doom, doom... and Gloom!’

It is very catchy.

But although Saturn and Uranus won’t complete their current series of oppositions till 2010 we won’t all suffer too badly.

Whenever they fight and struggle like this, the winners are always the people who are most willing and ready to drop the old way of doing things and find new approaches or philosophies. Right now, it’s clear that these are particularly needed in the world of banking... and busness. The sky god who creates magic out of chaos is helping us see that... and helping too, the earth goddess who desperately needs the human race to be less ‘productive’ at her expense.

House prices may plummet further, more jobs may well be lost and many traditional industries may have to scale back... but the changes need only be temporary. Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling are in a good position to pressure the banks into keeping foreclosures to a minimum. Over in America, the last thing Barack Obama wants is more tent cities while houses rot empty. Many of us may worry, but few of us will lose our homes and none of us will freeze or starve in 2009.

New technologies, especially those involving space exploration and energy efficiency will yet create work for millions.

And whatever kind of year it prove to be economically, culturally, spiritually, romantically, psychologically, scientifically and politically, it will be one of the most exciting and rewarding times we have ever lived through.

Correct.

I thought there were 40 words in the Presidential oath. He seemed to get it down to 36 and not necessarily in that order
"If you sit still the birds shit on you, even Buddha, life's short so get out there and do something"
