He was probably from a long line of sages in the Appalachians. I remember an American telling me,while my ass was parked in one of 3000 bars I've frequented in the US,that there were many such people in the mountains.

This is where I would place my money for now. If I get up to Knob Creek in October, i will ask some of the range officers. Yorick worked there on and off.

If he is dead I do think his name should stay on the list of Mod's. Just out of respect.

He implied at several points that he was on the run because of something he'd done. Knob Creek sounds like a good start -- I didn't know anyone here had known his specific whereabouts.

You should pay more attention then.

...for what it's worth: yorick WAS on the run.
he mentioned being on the move and travelling thru montana and the dakotas, staying with friends on reservations. one woman in particular, an attorney, was someone he went to visit regarding some legal stuff.....
....this was about a year and a half ago.
He mentioned owning some tobacco land....as i told someone else here, i think it gave him an annual income of sorts...he had that sort of phlemmy laugh that smokers sometimes have...

He called on several occasions about coming up to alaska, asking about jobs up here....
One idea of his involved trapping and then curing and sewing the furs into clothes to sell. I told him to have fun with that and let me know how it all worked out for him. :))

...last summer when i was waiting in 4 lane traffic: there was a man on an old Indian motorcycle...old army surplus gear--wearing his 'house', so to speak. a tent, etc was packed on the back.
Old.
Antiquated.
I got the eeriest feeling. I swore it was him.
But the number he has last called me at had been disconnected for a long time....i actually called it.

Cold, are you absolutely sure?
