A question-- Do you really think that Obama is steering the US towards democratic socialism? Is he some kind of collectivist-archtype wanting to take control of the American government?

I think he may be using classic cult psychology.....it's looking that way. From a Randian viewpoint,it has to look that way. He does seem spiritually "dark".

This is already a socialist republic. He is steering us towards a communist one.

Is he some kind of collectivist-archtype wanting to take control of the American government?

He is not alone in this regard. Watch it all unfold in the next 6-12 months.

Every politician uses "magic". Most of their audience doesn't even care whether they use it or not...but that doesn't matter, because those sheeple aren't the dangerous ones the "magic" is supposed to work on anyway...but these days, the dangerous ones are starting to see how the special effects work - watch for the increasing amount of danger in the U.S. and then watch more executive orders to be issued that suspend the constitutional rights of people - and then watch the real fireworks happen! This is going to be entertaining.

Predictions (in order, but #1,2 and 3 happen in 2009):

1. U.S. government grows in size and scope, and increasingly moves to control private sector markets.
2. Increasing subsets of U.S. civilians become decreasingly complacent and (primarily) internet organized protests focusing on changing fiscal policy increase in number (but remain largely unsuccessful in major media news and ineffective at policy change).
3. U.S. government puts restrictions on civilian use of the internet & tries protest organizers and protesters as domestic terrorists under the U.S. Patriot act.
4. U.S. population severely affected by global economic depression, including lethal community battles over resources for survival.
5. U.S. government issues order under "national emergency" that:
a. institutes martial law.
b. institutes government supervised work programs for civilians.
c. makes civilian firearm ownership illegal.
6. New RYP book and video come out: "How to build a secret underground bunker and come back alive from Armageddon".
7. Second American revolutionary war begins. Russia and China invade, starts WWIII.
8. Cockroaches survive.
Life is short. Eat, Drink & Be Merry!

Fair point, but honestly when hasn't govt. used various "tools" to intimidate, harass and supress dissent?

And I can match you a leftist response to a bad economy for every fascist uprising as well. Probably more. If this report were honest, it would have atleast mentioned the use of combat trained vets by inner city street gangs. Which, as opposed to the maybes and supposeds the fedgov is offering, is actually happening. And one doesn't have to go back 10 or 15 years to find an example of.

I can't see the inner city gangs as a real threat. They tend to eat their own and that's the way the government likes it....so let them be and focus on the organizations that pose more than a percieved threat. Does anyone care if the inner cities happen to burn? Did you give a shit about N.Orleans?

What about all these supposed Hezbollah cells lurking in every corner of the West? Is Farrakhan part of this?

Q:

And I'd bet you that the "leftist" threat that also increases in rough economic times, is dealt with in the memo about "left-wing extremist groups".

If this report were honest, it would have atleast mentioned the use of combat trained vets by inner city street gangs.

That would be in the report and memos under "I" for inner-city street gangs. Just like Environmental bombers are filed under "E" for environmentalists, the left-wing extremists are filed under "L" for left-wing nutjobs and this memo probably ended up under "R" for right-wing nutjobs.

Which, as opposed to the maybes and supposeds the fedgov is offering, is actually happening

That's pretty much common knowledge amongst most people and if DHS and all the other law dogs are doing their jobs, they have an eye on that as well as on the possibility of right-wing goofs acting up.

Actually, they don't. More innocent victims die from gang violence than do gangbangers.

Sri Lanky wrote:....so let them be and focus on the organizations that pose more than a percieved threat.

Last time some right wing neo-nazi veteran went on a rampage? Hint: It was almost 15 years ago. Last time a gangbanger Iraq vet went on a shooting spree? 2 years ago. And that's only what's made national news.

Sri Lanky wrote:Did you give a shit about N.Orleans?

Considering I was there, yes. Where were you?

I covered that in an earlier post. Comparing you ninnies to the neocon ninnies who had everyone jumping at shadows of evil muslims under their beds.

I only take issue with one of your statements;that more innocent people die at the hands of gangbangers than gangbangers themselves. No fucking way...not even close.

The ninny statement is questionable,I might add. :)

The real question is;how many goddam enemies does the American government have?

With the exception of street gangs, I would say that the lefties (but really, what do they have to complain about these days anyway??), and to an extent the greens don't deserve the rap either.

For the most part there hasn't been anykind of leftist "terror" in the US since the 60's.(you know, Obama's buddies.) And the green whackos are few and far between.

But, c'mon. You don't have to be a neo-Nazi tinfoil hat wearer to read between the lines when it comes to the DHS report as far as "right wing" groups are concerned. Third parties? Anti-illegal immigration folks? And on and on and on...
