The Oil Spill Conspiracy Theories Are Piling Up

Apparently even ol' whore-and-heroin-wrangler himself, Rush Limbaugh, has got into the game.

Also plenty from the avowed tinfoil hatters here and here.

Ain' we cain't ferget the left-wing-press doing all they can to, uh, get in on the great game themselves.

I personally thaink it's just Cthulu getting pissed off down there, under the seabed. Perhaps he shall arise soon.

It's a good time to do so.

Karl Rove aka Bushes Brain got into it a while back declaring the oil spill as "Obama's Katrina".

Next? Hillary will be declared as "Obama's Lewinsky". How's that for a visual?

In a "Tell us your opinion" section in a local newspaper, one person claimed it was North Korea because the rig operator company is South Korean.

You left our Alex Jones! He's on this like flies on shit. Which means it couldn't possibly be true, right? Anyway, I just figure this is all part of a plan, the same plan as 9/11, the invasion of Iraq, the banking collapse, etc. Why? Because all those events were precipitated by stock market weirdness. The banking collapse was preceded by a short-sell attack on vulnerable casinos like AIG and Bear Sterns, remember? 9/11 was preceded by all those weird sales of airline stocks; they never did find out who it was, as all the orders were routed through hedge funds and the UAE. I honestly think greed is their Achilles heel; their Satanic overlords must tell them not to give it away by profiting on his nefarious plans, but a few just can't resist.

BP Grand Poobah Tony Hayward sold £1.4 million in BP stocks a few weeks before the accident: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/news ... spill.html

Mr Hayward, whose pay package is £4 million a year, then paid off the mortgage on his family’s mansion in Kent, which is estimated to be valued at more than £1.2 million.

There is no suggestion that he acted improperly or had prior knowledge that the company was to face the biggest setback in its history.
His decision, however, means he avoided losing more than £423,000 when BP’s share price plunged after the oil spill began six weeks ago.

Since he disposed of 223,288 shares on March 17, the company’s share price has fallen by 30 per cent. About £40 billion has been wiped off its total value. The fall has caused pain not just for BP shareholders, but also for millions of company pension funds and small investors who have money held in tracker funds.

Coincidentally, Goldman-Sachs sold 44% of their BP stocks at about the same time: http://www.democraticunderground.com/di ... 89x8467934

Which means they kept 56% of their BP stock. If your point is that they were operating on some kind of insider knowledge to avoid losing money on the stock, you'd think they'd have sold it all, or at least switched the percentages. Of course that would mean that they knew the oil would spill, and if they had had that kind of knowledge, you'd think they'd have fixed it beforehand.

Or made a shit-ton of money off the knowledge, one of the two.

That was within a week of Halliburton buying the oil well blowout company it has been using to deal with the rig, which they famously worked on the day before the accident: http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/inves ... /19435689/

10:30 AM 04/12/10

...Boots & Coots has two core businesses. First, there is Pressure Control, which involves prevention and risk-control services for oil- and gas-well fires and blowouts. A key to this area was the acquisition of John Wright, which developed sophisticated technologies to measure well integrity.

Next, Boots & Coots has a Well Intervention division, which helps enhance production for oil and gas operators. This business is likely to benefit nicely from the trend toward unconventional resource plays (such as extracting energy from shale). Boots & Coots greatly expanded this division with the acquisitions of Oil States International and StassCo.

See, I consider this solid material for an enduring conspiracy theory. But once again, the Left and Right just have to blame each other! Sure, it was the environmentalists, because why wouldn't a group of anemic, dreadlocked English majors who usually protest nude outside KFC blow up a deep-sea oil well? No... obviously it was the oil industry, because they just hated the idea of offshore drilling when they could be preserving the wilderness for our grandchildren. There must be a third conspiracy, and I'd like it to somehow mesh with the Tea Party/RNC people splitting the GOP right before a major election.

Seems to me that these are some of the forces that are deliberately colluding against Obama. They are trying to trigger a paranoia attack on the man's brain. Thus the rare show of emotion....."plug the damn hole!". At least he didn't say darn.

This definitely has a WOW factor.

Another nice thing about this conspiracy theory is it ties in neatly with the Bush Administration's (and many Democrats at all levels) decision to ignore the Gulf Coast after Katrina. Sure, there were some high-profile efforts in New Orleans, but the rest of the coast? I did that drive two years ago and it was still thrashed, wrecked towns surrounded by cement staircases to nowhere, weedy collections of cement foundations bristling with twisted rebar.

Weird, right? But what if They knew that the Gulf Coast was about to be sacrificed to their Bohemian Grove owl god, and were just like, "Meh, those poor bastards are doomed anyway, let's just buy more jet fuel so we can drop bombs and stuff on Iraq FUCK YEAH."

Maybe that's why they never bothered to fix up the WTC, either.

Well, maybe Halliburton did this to discredit Obama... but while it hurts him, it undermines big oil (usually considered cozier with the Republicans than the Democrats, despite the facts) more. Don't you think Big Oil = Bushes, Haliburton=Cheney, at least in in US popular culture?

Why Is Dick Cheney Silent on the Oil Spill?
The former vice president is usually a vociferous defender of his time in government. But not on the disaster in the gulf.

...But facing a firestorm of criticism over the oil spill, he's been notably silent.
More than national security, energy policy and the oil industry might be considered Cheney's real areas of expertise. He was chairman and CEO of oil-services company Halliburton between 1995 and 2000. And, of course, he worked prominently on energy policy as vice president from 2000 to 2008.

Halliburton was working on the Deepwater Horizon rig just before it blew up, opening the well and sending oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. Some experts have speculated that the company may have been to blame for the explosion. The pro-oil atmosphere (and Cheney's continued links to Halliburton) during his vice presidency, have also come to the fore since the April 20 accident.

...His ears ringing with the cries of "Cheney's Katrina," a title many are striving to bestow on the gulf oil spill, one might expect the former VP to convene journalists for a speech...The closest we have this time is Liz Cheney, Dick's daughter, arguing with Arianna Huffington on ABC's This Week.

We wondered why. Are the claims too substantial to refute? Is Cheney so incensed that he cannot trust himself to speak? Or, conversely, is he perhaps so sanguine about the entire issue that he doesn't feel it merits comment? We reached out to Cheney, via the American Enterprise Institute, to ask. But, perhaps unsurprisingly, there was no response by the time we posted this.

I think this article is pretty weak - why would they expect Cheney to comment on a Halliburton fuckup? That's a lose-lose press conference for him, and he's not running for anything. But I'm trying to illustrate how I don't think this hurts Obama as much as his apparent opposition.

Plus, someone is deliberately splitting the GOP. I don't know many Libertarians, Tea Partiers, etc, who really want to split the Republican Party right now. But obviously, if the Tea Party runs a POTUS candidate (my money's on Dobbs/Palin), Obama wins a second term no matter what. And look what the RNC did. They were considering AZ for their convention, but voted against it because of the new immigration laws that many Tea Partiers support. That's practically taunting the teabaggers to have their own convention in Phoenix, you know?

Something's up. If they try to implement that global carbon tax thing to pay for this spill, and the GOP faithful support it (which they will because their sugardaddy oil companies will tell them to, ditto most Dems), we'll be a three party system. Oh, and I'd forgotten that the spill began on Hitler's birthday (which has important occult symbolism), which I think was the same day that the AZ Immigration law was signed. It's all, like, connected, man.

You think this isn't conspiracy theory gold? May I present FTW: Nostradamus. Point, set, and match. I noticed this from my second-favorite astrologer this morning:

Ok... For all you guys that love a good mystery/conspiracy theory?...
Did you know the Sec of the Navy (Ray Mabus) has been asked to develop the Gulf Oil Spill Clean up Plan?... The interesting part/question becomes is this is the same Mabus that Nostral-domus named as his 3rd antichrist?... The other two he named were NAPAULON ROY (Napoleon) and Hister (Hitler)... Hmmmm... Hehehe... (sorry, couldn't resist & I probably shouldn't goof on things like this)... Especially if that well keeps pumping oil, surely the sea is already starting to turn red fercrissakes... (((GULP))).. hehe...

Upon further googling, however I learned that this isn't quite true, Secretary Mabus will die, and his death will pave the way for the antiChrist to come:

The Mabus, Nostradamus, End of the World Connection
Nostradamus predicted three antichrists.

For those that believe, the first was:
NAPOLEON BONAPARTE
An Emperor will be born near Italy, He will cost his Empire very dearly: He is less a prince than a butcher. - Nostradamus (1555)

The second was:
HIƒTER = HITLER
ADOLF HITLER

The third is:
THE THIRD AND FINAL ANTICHRIST... MABUS
World War III begins when Mabus dies a sudden death.

Century 2, Quatrain 62
Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

Now, I don't put any stock in this stuff, but I am certainly willing to provide the incoming SECNAV extra protection....just in case I'm wrong.

No.
Mabus is not the antichrist; he is the facilitator of the antichrist. Do your research through the quatrains again. When Mabus Dies, it will be the catalyst for the Antichrist to seize absolute power.
What is important to point out is who Ray Mabus was and who he is today. Many Nostradamus Scholars (and I am not one) think that Mabus will be either of middle eastern decent or education.

“A founder of sects , much trouble for the accuser:
A beast in the theater prepares the scene and plot.
The author ennobled by acts of older times;
the world is confused by schismatic sects.”
Century I, Quatrain 45

Mabus was appointed by President Bill Clinton to be the United States ambassador to Saudi Arabia and served from 1994 to 1996. It is important to note that he was ambassador at the times of the bombings of OPM-SANG in Riyadh and the Khobar Towers, as well as the Renewal of the Taif treaty between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. http://www1.american.edu/TED/ice/saudi-yemen.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khobar_Towers_bombing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_te ... ents,_1995

“Naval battle night will be overcome,
Fire in the ships to the West ruin:
New trick, the great ship colored,
Anger to the vanquished, and victory in a drizzle.”
Century IX, Quatrain 100
“ Mabus then will soon die, there will come
Of people and beasts a horrible rout:
Then suddenly one will see vengeance,
Hundred, hand, thirst, hunger when the comet will run.”
Century II, Quatrain 62
I think these two Quatrains go well together. Ray Mabus is nominated to become the Next secretary of the Navy. Mabus served two years in the Navy as a surface warfare officer from 1970 to 1972 onboard the USS Little Rock. one of the current MAJOR missions of the navy is Ballistic Missile defense, with BMD capable AEGIS ships based in Japan, Hawaii, and the Western US coast (ships to the West). Interestingly enough look at the command crests of the Missile Defense agency and the AEGIS BMD programs from a vexillologist’s perspective.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... y-Seal.svg
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... md_mda.jpg

The missiles being defeated appear to be quite comet-like. A likely scenario is that the SecNav would be onboard a BMD platform planning to engage and defeat a Ballistic threat. The ship he is on is attacked by surprise by a threat that went undetected to that point (New trick, the great ship colored), perhaps a new stealth technique or submarine. Obviously the Vanquished would be angered and that would led to Quatrain 62 of Century II . The Comet that runs could be allusion to the undefeated Ballistic missile that, coupled with a surprise attack on US forces, triggers the third world war.

“The antichrist very soon annihilates the three,
twenty-seven years his war will last.
The unbelievers are dead, captive, exiled;
with blood, human bodies, water and red hail covering the earth.
Century VIII, Quatrain 77”

A little off subject..but another thing that bothers me...

"A horrible undoing of people and animals"

The mentioning of animals seems of important significance...it makes me wonder about the reasons so many animals are affected....

It's kind of scary...it leans in the direction of a large enough disaster to affect so many animals and not just humans...

Im glad this is in the TFH cafe as I don't therefore feel any great need to say what a load of bollocks Nostradamus' "predictions" are.

Well, Caliban, you don't have to believe them. But if you're trying to craft a world-class conspiracy theory, it's hard to imagine a greater gift from the fates than a Nostrodamus quatraine that mentions one of the spill's main characters *by name*, and specifically refers to an event that kills animals as well as people. Seriously, you may think Nostrodomus is bunk, but the Hister prophecy gave him some serious street cred last century, really more than any other Western prophet save, perhaps, John from Revelations. And seriously, you're going to refuse to call this a good conspiracy theory until the spill destroys a third of the oceans (Rev. 8:8-9) or something?

Whatever.
