Haven't read the book myself(it's $119.00) but have read snippets and the jest of it is that a good portion of the universe moves and operates through the soul of a person. So,what good is that if you don't do anything with it. We can meditate and read bullshit forever but eventually it all boils down to trying to help others. Going into higher states of consciousness is one thing...even a small-minded postmodern nihilistic fuck like myself can do that. But,gaining a higher moral sense is another thing. Too damn easy to slide into nihilism when morals are negated because a moral hierarchy is considered elitist. You can't tell me what to fucking do. You want to see a demoralized universe then just look around. It's horrifying. There's whole generations literally demoralized.

So,what to do? I can remind myself that being in the postmodern West and having the options and privileges that I do that I have a moral obligation to try to make the world a better place. Easier said than done.

...so it's basically all aboot Jung getting high à la Burroughs?

I comprehend the whole hoo-haw around this book, too many see CGJ as a bit of a crankpot to begin with and this won't help. Then again, his observations may end up being so personal as to be irrelevant to students of psychoparanormalisationality-esqueness, and such a publication could end up in that sewer-dwelling realm of maniacal genius masturbation that only appeals to the fanatical followers and not those who simply use his observations as a tool for transcendence into the next realm of consciousness. As it were.

Yes,this is why Jung said that he was glad that he was actually Jung himself and not a Jungian. It's a situation akin to Bukowski as well.....along with Burroughs. Lots o' folks trying to live the dream through Buk. Well, there was only one Buk.....which brings us to el3so. Yep,live your own stupid fucking life and who cares if it's fucking stupid as long as it's your own.

I tried looking for a 2nd hand copy or a cheaper one on the net through Ebay and Amazon, $119 was all i could find last time so i gave up. At least the price hasn't risen since then. I still would really like to read it and check it out.

sri, thanks for this!
it's pretty huge. :)
i'm going into OCLC (google that, those of you who are bored) next time i'm at work and see if i can order it. or request and borrow it from another library in the u.s. if, in fact, it's even available.

actions speak louder than words. i agree.
i've begun looking at how those around me act much more closely, than as to what they say. altho harsh verbage still really makes me shut down.
you smart man. what would we do without you. :)

and well. the library i work at is going to order this book.

guess i'll then have to read it.

i'm a little conflicted, re jung.
not that i've spent all that much time thinking about him.
i sometimes wonder if praying is somehow tied into all his 'stuff'.

thoughts are appreciated.

sigh. this is one long-ass book.
No Apologies.

It looks like it would be a very interesting read but it should probably still be taken with a grain of salt.

Best book one should read or attempt to read is "The Voynich Manuscript"
and good luck to anyone to understand it fully..

This book is insanely priced, even from Amazon.com, they should put it in paperback. Almost like Manly Halls book, that was quite expensive "Secret of the Ages", when it first came out...(now its cheaper)

Yeah but if they reduced the price then you might read it.
