Osama Navy Seal Book Conspiracy: Poll

I am disappointed that Mark Bissoinette's new book hasn't elicited a conspiracy theory reaction at all! Everything related to Osama bin Laden is surrounded by conspiracy. From the 9/11 Truth Movement to the bizarre lack of photos of Osama's assassination, next to a Pakistani military base, by Navy Seals (immediately followed by the death of 22 Navy Seals in a bizarre helicopter crash), it's been a conspiracy cornucopia that makes the Kennedy assassinations look cut and dried.

Image

So now, this book comes out, with a first run of about a zillion copies and so much hype about how it "contains top military secrets" and "breaks OPSEC regulations" and "might be banned" that it's outselling pornography and everything else. The Pentagon and White House, for all their blather about how these secrets are so important and amazing, sure haven't done jack shit to stop the book's release or punish the author. It's just been hype. Deliberately timed to coincide with the DNC convention.... just like Osama's death was deliberately timed to coincide with the Windsor-Middleton wedding!!!

I just feel like the conspiraphere is being lazy about this. The one thing we all learned from Salman Rushdie (other than "Why use a word with two syllables when there's a perfectly good phrase with 27 that could stand in its place") is that the best way to sell books is have a hated Muslim leader say you shouldn't read it, while releasing as many copies of said book into the world at the same time. Cue Obama saying this guy broke OPSEC rules or whatever. Of course right wingers and most military types are going to rally around the "Navy Seal" who "wrote" it. And then the FOX News crowd will follow, and eventually a majority of people.

And, while they think they're somehow hurting Obama, this just publicizes that the Obama administration killed Osama bin Laden, on the day the DNC Convention starts. Most of us had pretty much forgotten the Osama bin Laden thing, or just remembered that no pics were released (ahem), and were focused instead on the US economy. Which, frankly, Obama sucks at, although he's pretty good at killing Osama bin Laden.

My proposed conspiracy? All this book hype was by design. It just makes sense within the context of all the other Osama conspiracies.

I hope someone who sort of knows WTF they're talking about bothers to read the book and review it here, in the context of OPSEC and whether or not this Bissonnette guy is (a) believable and (b) really giving away state secrets that the Pentagon would realistically give a shit about.

And this is just my off-the-cuff conspiracy, a creative mind could certainly come up with other ones. I guess the idea that Bissonnette was deliberately trying to sabotage the Obama administration by releasing this book concurrent with the DNC convention and 9/11 anniversary is a sort of conspiracy. I just don't see how it hurts Obama, really. I mean, the people who are all, "Obama claimed to have killed OBL when really it was the Navy Seals," are preaching to the choir - a choir that would vote for an obese chihuahua with urinary tract disorder over Obama anyway. I don't think anyone else believes O did anything without recommendations from the military and intelligence, and even then just pretty much gave his OK for the operation. Or that he claimed otherwise. What makes Obama look good is the fact that it happened under his watch, not Bush's, and that Romney specifically said he wouldn't bother trying to kill Osama. Maybe those folks know something we don't (CONSPIRACY) but the vast majority of USAmericans holds OBL responsible for attacking the WTC all those 9/11s ago, so it's awesome in a visceral sense that he's dead.

IF he's dead. Or if he died in 2001 in Pakistan. Or [insert conspiracy here].

Anyway, if you read the book and are familiar with OPSEC, please post your opinions here, I'd love to incorporate them into a solid conspiracy theory for dissemination across the Interwebs.

PS: The Flouride Conspiracy is actually a reverse conspiracy being spread by the bottled water and filtration companies. Please spread this misinformation everywhere, because I hate all the water bottles discarded all over the place, it pisses me off.

US Government Is Bullying an American Hero
By Valerie Plame Wilson, Reader Supported News

15 September 12

very day thousands of Americans working for the U.S. government spend all their waking hours keeping their fellow citizens safe. The vast majority of them work quietly - and anonymously - as they track our enemies, aid our allies, and seek out any and all threats to our country. And most of the men and women don't give a damn about the absurd posturing and contrived drama generated by America's political process. As I learned first-hand in 2003, there are times when the politicians bring the posturing and drama to you.

I served my country, loyally and well, as a covert CIA operations officer focused on stopping nuclear weapon proliferation until the Bush administration decided to betray my secret identity as payback for my husband questioning the White House's justification for the Iraq War. The lesson was simple: If you offer the public a true story that is at odds with what the government wants you to know, they will stop at nothing to destroy you, your reputation, and the reputations of the people around you.

In the past few weeks, we have heard riveting stories of heroism and valor from one of the U.S. soldiers who participated in the combat mission that killed Osama bin Laden. His book, written under a pseudonym (his true identity was subsequently made public by Fox News), is by most accounts devoid of any classified information. In fact, most of what is in the book had been already leaked by top officials of the U.S. government themselves. I am dismayed to read the steady stream of criticism flowing from the U.S. government aimed at the book and its author. The Defense Department and administration officials have called the author's decision to publish the book the "height of irresponsibility." Former CIA Director and current Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has even gone so far as to say, "I think we have to take steps to make clear to him and to the American people that we're not going to accept this kind of behavior."

At the same time that they threaten the author and try to "make clear" they're not going to accept an honest account of what happened in Abbottabad, Americans have also recently learned that the CIA and other U.S. government agencies have been cooperating with Hollywood figures on a movie about the same topic. In fact, according to CIA emails released recently, one writer was given a "deep dive" inside the Agency as they wrote a screenplay on the bin Laden raid. Are U.S. government officials angry that the author wrote a book, or that his book came out before their movie? This, of course, comes after the U.S. government officials have participated in and been sources for newspaper articles, magazine features and even movies - like Act of Valor.

It is time for the public to make clear to our government that we will no longer accept their unsubstantiated or spoon-fed version as the only one of significant historical events. I don't believe that cooperating with an author or a screenwriter or even a movie producer on an authentic account of what happened in war is necessarily a bad thing, as long as no classified information is jeopardized. In fact, it has happened throughout American history and inspired many Americans to serve our country in their careers - myself included. However, next time you hear an American government official attacking the author of No Easy Day - stop and ask yourself why they are trying to bully an American hero. I just wish the officials making these threats would do the same. Our government has survived as long as it has because there are those prepared to hold it to account for its words and deeds. It's the essence of our democracy.

The best way to form a conspiracy theory is to take what happened and then deny it really happened and backtrack based on that assumption as truth to find evidence for it.

So the best conspiracy to take would be that OBL did not die in that raid, some other bearded dude with lots of wives did.

Then from there we can debate, Is he still alive? or did he die before the raid? Who benifited from him being "alive" for so long and who benifits from him being "dead" now?

By doing this we can psych ourselves up to ignore the official story. My favorite was that if we buried him at sea right away in accordance to Muslim burial customs then why did we violate a Muslim burial custom to do it?

The real answer I believe is "We are stupid and made up the burial custom thing because we were ignorant" but the better one is "to hide the body that was not OBL"

I can't believe that conspiracy never got traction, considering the "evidence." I wonder if this book mentions any of the actions they took to verify that the body was, indeed, OBL's.

They should come out with a book titled "The Magic Muslim killed by the Magic Negro".
