But what do you think happened? Usually after you read enough about something you can form an opinion based on what you have read. Speculation is ok, but I want to know what YOU think.

For example, I believe he was killed in a botched robbery in which he fought back long enough to run away, and was then shot in the back in retaliation for fighting back and running away.

I believe this because of the bruises on his hands and wounds to the back have been consistent, according to homocide detectives in DC, with similar murders they investigated.

Like you I have no idea what really happened, but that is what I think happened based on what I have read and my trust in those who provided me with the information.

Now you try.

I'm sorry Kurt, I thought I was succinct, I don't know. If I knew, I would drop my interest in following it and write a batch of notes .. maybe.

In following the reports, and hoping for some reasonable, provable solution, I'll then look back, to see who was accurate and who wasn't. That would be of value to me.

Some background about me that may help: I worked as a photojournalist for several years. Much was for a big news magazine. Also, I studied screenplay writing for two years. It was sometime back, and I didn't pursue it, but, the interest in stories has stayed with me. I think this is a pretty good story.

What do you think happened (beyond the struggle and shooting)? You weren't there either, I'm pretty sure. But, your skills are much different than mine. Why do you think this saga keeps going. It can't be generating that many clicks.

I find the report (anonymous as could be) by the emergency room surgeon that said, he was alive in the hospital, and that his wounds were survivable. Then, law enforcement came in and all the medical staff were required to leave the room.. interesting. It might be big BS, but the hospital is known now, and no questions have been asked or answered, that I've seen.

I can't really conclude much. I don't know the reporting sources well enough to know who could be trusted to report accurately. Julian Assuage's $20k reward for info, caught my eye. Why would he do that?

Rich's family wanted the crime solved, then they didn't, now they do again. Too many players, with who knows what to gain or loose. Way too many variables for me to process. I'm just waiting to see what happens. You must agree, this story has a life of it's own at this point, for whatever reason.

Don't worry about it, just state what your opinion is on the event. It does not have to be perfect or based on knowing or not knowing, just what do you think happened? How do you think the events unfolded?

Just give it a try. I mean you have been posting quite a lot on this topic and similar ones. I find it odd that so much information can lead to not even having an opinion.

Well, I again don't know. But, I think a lot of people are lying and I'm curious as to their motives. I'm interested in finding out who's lying and why.

There are many stories written about Rich. And, some are less than a week old. So, maybe something will surface.

Why do you think Assange offered the reward ? What would his interest be ?

Lockheed Is Proposing a Major 'Triple Intelligence' Upgrade for the U-2 Spy Plane

A new configuration with three types of sensor systems could make the planes even more versatile and keep them relevant for years to come.

By Joseph Trevithick

The Drive | March 20, 2018

The U.S. Air Force seems to have effectively abandoned plans to retire its fleet of U-2S Dragon Lady spy planes in the near future. Now, amid especially high demands for strategic intelligence and concerns about a gap in aerial battlefield surveillance capabilities, Lockheed Martin is pitching proposals to give the iconic aircraft upgraded sensors and data links, as well as the ability to carry three different intelligence gathering systems all on the same mission.

Our good friend Stephen Trimble, head of Flightglobal's Americas Bureau, was first to get the new details after getting an exclusive tour of Lockheed Martin’s Site 2 hangar, part of the company’s facilities in Palmdale, California earlier in March 2018. Site 2 is home to the firm’s U-2 program and is where it performs heavy depot maintenance on the planes for the Air Force. As a rule, the service sends each U-2 to the facility for a full overhaul approximately every 4,800 flight hours.

“My strategy is to put as much as we can within the [US military’s next six-year budget plan], because we’ve got room to grow,” Kyle Franklin, Lockheed Martin’s U-2 program manager, told FlightGlobal during the visit. This is a significantly different attitude than the company might have had even last year.

Since 2011, the Air Force has gone back and forth on the idea of supplanting the Dragon Ladies with RQ-4 Global Hawk drones. As recently as 2016, the service still planned to retire the U-2S no later than 2020.

USAF
A U-2S Dragon Lady.

Its latest budget request for the 2019 fiscal year, which it released in February 2018, suggests that this is unlikely to happen any time soon. The proposal includes funding for U-2S upgrades and sustainment through at least 2023. The Air Force even says it expects to grow the size of the fleet from 24 to 27 by the end of 2018, even though it says it will then retire one older aircraft by the end of the following year.

As such, Lockheed Martin is very clearly expecting to be involved in the U-2 program for the foreseeable future. The centerpiece of the company’s latest push is a newly proposed “Tri-Intelligence” or “Tri-INT” configuration for the planes.
This refers to an aircraft with three distinct sensor suites. These would be a multi-spectral camera, a radar imaging system, and a set of equipment to collect various different types signals.

At present, the Dragon Ladies can only bring two of these three distinct capabilities along on a single mission. This typically consists of the Senior Glass signals intelligence suit in the fuselage and “Super Pods” under the wings, and either the Senior Year Electro Optical Reconnaissance System-2 (SYERS-2) or Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar System-2 (ASARS-2) in the nose. You can read more about these different configurations here.
The latest version of SYERS-2, the SYERS-2C, is a 10-band multi-spectral camera that has traditional electro-optical and infrared capabilities, but can also build images based on the electromagnetic signatures that different objects produce. The most up-to-date ASARS-2, the ASARS-2A, is a mechanically-scanned array radar that produces imagery based on the reflection of those waves.

The full Senior Glass system is actually capable of collecting intelligence on a variety of very different signals. The Senior Spear equipment, which fits inside one of the aircraft’s two Super Pods can spot and monitor enemy communications. The Senior Ruby gear, which goes in the other pod, can locate and categorize hostile radar emissions. An antenna farm along the belly adds additional capabilities, which could include spying on different data streams and the ability to more accurately geo-locating the source of a transmission.

Lockheed Martin’s Tri-INT arrangement would consolidate the signals intelligence systems into just one Super Pod, and potentially elsewhere along the fuselage, and fit a multi-spectral camera under the other wing. This could be the SYERS-2C, but the firm told FlightGlobal it would prefer to use United Technologies Aerospace Systems’ (UTAS) 10-band MS-177A, which sits inside a rotating turret and is therefore more flexible.
Raytheon’s ASARS-2B would go in the nose. Though this radar shares a basic nomenclature with the older unit, it is essentially an all-new, active-electronically scanned array (AESA) design that scans faster and is more powerful and precise, producing better imagery, quicker. It also has a ground moving target indicator capability to track moving vehicles or potentially help the pilot refine their search area based on those tracks. The Air Force already plans to spend more than $215 million on development of ASARS-2B between 2019 and 2023.

It is also in the process of adding the older seven-band MS-177 camera on the RQ-4 and wants to begin installing the improved A model, along with other upgrades to those unmanned aircraft, in the near future as well. Lockheed Martin could propose the Air Force expand its purchases of MS-177As to include additional units to go into upgraded U-2s.
Lockheed Martin will still have to either develop or otherwise locate a compact signals intelligence suite that offers equal or better capabilities to Senior Glass to complete its proposed Tri-INT U-2S package. Lastly, the updated planes would feature additional and modernized data links, including multi-function advanced data links (MADL) or similar functionality to allow the Dragon Ladies to communicate with stealthy F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, which can themselves vacuum up an impressive amount of intelligence data, and B-2 Spirit bombers in near real time.

Coupled with a device Lockheed Martin calls the “Einstein Box,” which acts as a gateway for various data streams, the high-flying spy planes could be able to fuse different information together and otherwise help provide other aircraft, personnel on the ground or at sea, or analysts back at base a more complex “picture” of the battlefield.

Having a U-2S that could perform all these missions without having to shift configurations would make the aircraft significantly more flexible. It could potentially give the Air Force the ability to gather more intelligence, and of different varieties, per sortie and reduce the total number of aircraft and flying time required to acquire the same scope of information.

Also, though it is an increasingly old platform, the U-2S continues to be able to use its ability to fly at altitudes above 70,000 feet, and its very advanced electronic warfare suite, to offer a capable defense against a variety of potential threats. Flying high, the aircraft can use a slanted flight pattern to peer into target areas with its long-range cameras and radars without having to expose themselves to the same level of danger as flying directly over them.

As a result, according the FlightGlobal, the Air Force still feels the Dragon Ladies can perform in “marginally contested” environments. This helps explain, at least in part, why the service has become increasingly convinced it cannot replace the planes outright with the lower-flying and potentially more vulnerable Global Hawk drones.
All of this could make the Tri-INT U-2S a particularly attractive option for the Air Force, especially given the voracious appetite of American commanders for strategic intelligence around the world. Growing tensions with Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran, among others, have stretched already limited resources even further.

“I don't have enough [aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets] because there isn't enough to go around,” U.S. Navy Admiral Harry Harris, head of U.S. Pacific Command, told members of Congress during a hearing on March 15, 2018. The senior officer specifically named the Air Force’s RC-135V/W Rivet Joint signals intelligence and WC-135 Constant Phoenix nuclear intelligence aircraft, as well the Navy’s P-3C patrol and EP-3E signals intelligence aircraft as “critical to intelligence collection” in his area of the world.

It seems hard to imagine American commanders elsewhere, particularly in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, would disagree. There’s no indication that this steady desire for more aerial intelligence is likely to decrease any time soon, either.

Having both Tri-INT U-2S spy planes, as well as RQ-4s, wil give the Air Force additional and complimentary assets for long-range intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. And the Tri-INT Dragon Ladies could potentially fill other functions beyond just strategic intelligence, further increasing the flexibility of the relatively small fleet.
Perhaps most immediately, an improved U-2S aircraft could become another part of the Air Force’s multi-faceted approach to replacing the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) battlefield management command and control aircraft. At present, the Air Force’s plan is to supplant these planes with a mix of different manned and unmanned aircraft by 2023.

The upgraded U-2S could offer another sensor node to feed information back to other battlefield management aircraft or ground exploitation control and intelligence exploitation elements, which could then analyze the information and pass it along to other elements as necessary. In particular, the ASARS-2B may be able to provide a similar type of functionality to the JSTARS’ electronically-scanned phased-array AN/APY-7 radar, but with the benefits of its AESA design and the Dragon Lady’s significantly higher operational ceiling.

On top of that, the Einstein Box could allow the U-2S to act as a communications gateway, data fusion center, an relay akin to the Air Force’s Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) aircraft. In 2017, a Dragon Lady with the system performed exactly this mission in an experimental capacity during that year’s iteration of the annual Northern Edge exercise in Alaska.
The Tri-INT U-2S configuration could also serve as the starting place for further developments that add additional capabilities or further transform the Dragon Lady’s operating concepts. There is already a historical precedent for operating the aircraft in the maritime surveillance role and the Air Force has already employed the aircraft in a reconnaissance capacity in the Western Pacific thanks to its range and high-flying capabilities.

The desire to monitor China’s expanding maritime forces, especially in the South China Sea, as well as enforce sanctions and a potential blockade against North Korea, will only further increase the demand for long range, persistent over-water surveillance capabilities. A further improved U-2 could provide a readily available and flexible platform for those missions.

Over time and as new threats steadily make the U-2S increasingly more vulnerable, Lockheed Martin could exploit the aircraft's existing modularity to add in advanced active defensive technologies, potentially including laser defense systems the Air Force is already working on for fighter and other aircraft. Lockheed itself is involved in that project, being responsible for the directed energy weapon system itself.

The company could propose more radical changes to the aircraft, as well, and is presently under contract with the Missile Defense Agency to develop a high-flying, unmanned platform to carry an offensive laser weapon to potentially destroy ballistic missiles during their initial boost phase. Between 2014 and 2015, as it looked like the Air Force might retire the U-2, Lockheed Martin suggested it could build a pilot-optional version or a derivative with some low-observable features that uses as many existing components as possible.

These are exactly these kinds of characteristics that have kept the U-2 going after more than six decades and avoid ending up in the Bone Yard on multiple occasions since 1969. With all this in mind, it seems increasingly clear that the Dragon Ladies still have a lot of life left in them still.

I am curious about your inability to come to a conclusion or have a theory about a topic you research and write often about (here at least), I do not want to be a dick but there is no way to ask this question without sounding like one, so:

When did you quit drinking?

I am curious because another board poster is often afflicted with the inability to draw a conclusion based on evidence (except when he is drunk, then conclusions come rapid-fire)

Two years ago I wrote this but I have had the theory for much longer:

I used to work with schizophrenics. One thing that inhibits schizos from having a relatively normal life is that they come to conclusions on things without evidence. So one person I worked with was convinced a cabal of Witches and the Mafia were after him. I asked him why he thought this and he said "well, isn't it obvious?" or he might say something like "they are aligned with the Yakuza and the Yakuza are also after me".

So never any process of evidence leading to the conclusion.

The other side of delusion I have noticed is in the 9/11 truther types. They tend to have tons of evidence but it only leads to a conclusion that everything other people believe is wrong but no conclusion themselves. And if you ask them "what do you believe happened on 9/11 based on your evidence?" they are not able to really answer and would much rather ask you what you believe so they can refute it.

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=61357#p588153

These days replace truthers with Deep Staters or False Flaggers or (Seth Richers) and you have the same symptoms.

The problem is with delusions is they are really hard to treat, since pointing out a delusion often acts to re-enforce the delusion. Plus an inability to come to a conclusion might inhibit one from seeking Occupational Therapy that could help re-train the brain to focus less on data for its own sake and instead use it for something like conclusions.

Yes, they have been polite. And I am honestly curious about why so many people will go on about something for such a long time and not really have an opinion or a conclusion about it, that is why my questions have not been polite.

I once asked the question of a guy in a tri-corner hat at the WTC site (the inside job people). I asked him if 9/11 was not as the media presented it, then what was it? What did he think happened? Who did he think the players were? This was 2013 and he had spent 8 years of his life researching, and reading and preaching about what did not happen but when pressed on what he thought happened he was not able to answer.

I found that very strange, He mentioned he started paying attention a few months after he had "sobered up" so I thought that might be a factor as well.

As a guy whose brain does not work right myself (had to spend a year in PT and OT to stop from being constantly dizzy...have no idea what caused it either) but I later wondered if this tri-corner hatted preacher about what does not exist maybe had his noodle overcooked by either booze or a sudden onset of sobriety.

If you do not want to give me an answer, that is fine, but just remember that sometimes people do observe and form opinions and theories about what they observe and no one is immune to that, even those who do not do so themselves.

Yep, I'm aware of that kind of thing. One of the first things I did, when I began my reading of this board, was to read anything I could find regarding Dr. V ,and the board's demise.

So, while I read your "kind" assessment of the personality inventory done, I honestly don't think you're a great judge of character, behavior, or someone's motives.

I do not think you have motives. I think a part of your brain is not working right. And yes, I have both contributed significantly to this board's greatness and greatly contributed to it's insignificance as well.

Not denying that.

Remember that you are curious, in public, about a murder victim whose parents have been quite vocal to the point of cease and desist letter and lawsuits for pain and suffering about their son being discussed in the way that fascinates you. I do the same thing for people like you. I find it incredibly interesting that there is this complete disconnection between information and opinion. My theory is that it involves a degree of brain damage, perhaps from past use of booze.

Its a bit rude, but lots of interesting things are rude.

Well Kurt, given your logic and assessment, every reporter, news publication and all their readers, anyone interested In this crime, sufferes from your diagnoses.

As you know, from reading my very few exchanges on this thread, this was intended as nothing more than an archive. I had no idea that anyone would be reading posts on a dead board. In fact, I have no idea who's reading this thread. I'm surprised you read it. You must have the ip stats on visits and ip location. I'm not asking you to share them, I'm not interested. But, I'm wondering if your concern is driven by the counter (a real reflection of visits?) or a genuine distaste for all who report, aggregate and read any material on the Rich killing?

I question your motive in this, as per your initial email and following email to me when requesting acces to BFC. And then, your refusal to respond to my reply. It was RYP who answered (for you?) with some of his humor, when I asked again publically, on here. So Kurt, you may be a fine person, I don't know. But, to my mind, this business started long before i made my first post on this board. I'm sure, you can understand my suspicion, given your initial comments to me. And, it's not likely to be altered.

But, i remain polite.

Contradictions In Seth Rich Murder Continue To Challenge Hacking Narrative

Zero Hedge

TwitterFacebookRedditEmailPrint
As rumors swirl that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is preparing a case against Russians who are alleged to have hacked Democrats during the 2016 election - a conclusion based solely on the analysis of cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike, a Friday op-ed in the Washington Times by retired U.S. Navy admiral James A. Lyons, Jr. asks a simple, yet monumentally significant question: Why haven't Congressional Investigators or Special Counsel Robert Mueller addressed the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich - who multiple people have claimed was Wikileaks' source of emails leaked during the 2016 U.S. presidential election?

Mueller has been incredibly thorough in his ongoing investigations - however he won't even respond to Kim Dotcom, the New Zealand entrepreneur who clearly knew about the hacked emails long before they were released, claims that Seth Rich obtained them with a memory stick, and has offered to provide proof to the Special Counsel investigation.

On May 18, 2017, Dotcom proposed that if Congress includes the Seth Rich investigation in their Russia probe, he would provide written testimony with evidence that Seth Rich was WikiLeaks' source.

In addition to several odd facts surrounding Rich's still unsolved murder - which officials have deemed a "botched robbery," forensic technical evidence has emerged which contradicts the Crowdstrike report. The Irvine, CA company partially funded by Google, was the only entity allowed to analyze the DNC servers in relation to claims of election hacking:

Notably, Crowdstrike has been considered by many to be discredited over their revision and retraction of a report over Russian hacking of Ukrainian military equipment - a report which the government of Ukraine said was fake news.

In connection with the emergence in some media reports which stated that the alleged “80% howitzer D-30 Armed Forces of Ukraine removed through scrapping Russian Ukrainian hackers software gunners,” Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs that the said information is incorrect.

Ministry of Defence of Ukraine asks journalists to publish only verified information received from the competent official sources. Spreading false information leads to increased social tension in society and undermines public confidence in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. –mil.gov.ua (translated) (1.6.2017)

In fact, several respected journalists have cast serious doubt on CrowdStrike's report on the DNC servers:

Pay attention, because Mueller is likely to use the Crowdstrike report to support the rumored upcoming charges against Russian hackers.

Also notable is that Crowdstrike founder and anti-Putin Russian expat Dimitri Alperovitch sits on the Atlantic Council - which is funded by the US State Department, NATO, Latvia, Lithuania, and Who else is on the Atlantic Council? Evelyn Farkas- who slipped up during an MSNBC interview with Mika Brzezinski and disclosed that the Obama administration had been spying on the Trump campaign:

The Trump folks, if they found out how we knew what we knew about the Trump staff dealing with Russians, that they would try to compromise those sources and methods, meaning we would not longer have access to that intelligence. -Evelyn Farkas

Odd facts surrounding the murder of Seth Rich

"The facts that we know of in the murder of the DNC staffer, Seth Rich, was that he was gunned down blocks from his home on July 10, 2016. Washington Metro police detectives claim that Mr. Rich was a robbery victim, which is strange since after being shot twice in the back, he was still wearing a $2,000 gold necklace and watch. He still had his wallet, key and phone. Clearly, he was not a victim of robbery," writes Lyons.

Another unexplained fact muddying the Rich case is that of a stolen 40 caliber Glock 22 handguns stoken from an FBI agent's car the same day Rich was murdered. D.C. Metro police said that the theft occurred between 5 and 7 a.m., while the FBI said two weeks later that the theft had occurred between Midnight and 2 a.m. - fueling speculation that the FBI gun was used in Rich's murder.

Furthermore, two men working with the Rich family - private investigator and former D.C. Police detective Rod Wheeler and family acquaintance Ed Butowsky, have previously stated that Rich had contacts with WikiLeaks before his death.

"According to Ed Butowsky, an acquaintance of the family, in his discussions with Joel and Mary Rich, they confirmed that their son transmitted the DNC emails to Wikileaks," writes Lyons.

While Wheeler initially told TV station Fox5 that proof of Rich's contact with WikiLeaks lies on the murdered IT staffer's laptop, he later walked the claim back - though he maintained that there was "some communication between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks."

Wheeler also claimed in recently leaked audio that Seth Rich’s brother, Aaron – a Northrup Grumman employee, blocked him from looking at Seth’s computer and stonewalled his investigation.

Wheeler said that brother Aaron Rich tried to block Wheeler from looking at Seth’s computer, even though there could be evidence on it. “He said no, he said I have his computer, meaning him,” Wheeler said. “I said, well can I look at it?…He said, what are you looking for? I said anything that could indicate if Seth was having problems with someone. He said no, I already checked it. Don’t worry about it.”

Aaron also blocked Wheeler from finding out about who was at a party Seth attended the night of the murder.

“All I want you to do is work on the botched robbery theory and that’s it,” Aaron told Wheeler -Big League Politics

Perhaps the most stunning audio evidence, however, comes from leaked audio of a recorded conversation between Ed Butowsky and Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, who told him of a "purported FBI report establishing that Seth Rich sent emails to WikiLeaks.”

As transcribed and exclusively reported on by journalist Cassandra Fairbanks last year:

What the report says is that some time in late Spring… he makes contact with WikiLeaks, that’s in his computer,” he says. “Anyway, they found what he had done is that he had submitted a series of documents — of emails, of juicy emails, from the DNC.”

Hersh explains that it was unclear how the negotiations went, but that WikiLeaks did obtain access to a password protected DropBox where Rich had put the files.

“All I know is that he offered a sample, an extensive sample, I’m sure dozens of emails, and said ‘I want money.’ Later, WikiLeaks did get the password, he had a DropBox, a protected DropBox,” he said. They got access to the DropBox.”

Hersh also states that Rich had concerns about something happening to him, and had

“The word was passed, according to the NSA report, he also shared this DropBox with a couple of friends, so that ‘if anything happens to me it’s not going to solve your problems,’” he added. “WikiLeaks got access before he was killed.”

Brennan and Russian disinformation

Hersh also told Butowsky that the DNC made up the Russian hacking story as a disinformation campaign – directly pointing a finger at former CIA director (and now MSNBC/NBC contributor) John Brennan as the architect.

I have a narrative of how that whole f*cking thing began. It’s a Brennan operation, it was an American disinformation, and the fu*kin’ President, at one point, they even started telling the press – they were backfeeding the Press, the head of the NSA was going and telling the press, fu*king c*cksucker Rogers, was telling the press that we even know who in the Russian military intelligence service leaked it.

Listen to Seymour Hersh leaked audio:

Hersh denied that he told Butowsky anything before the leaked audio emerged, telling NPR “I hear gossip… [Butowsky] took two and two and made 45 out of it.”

Techincal Evidence

As we mentioned last week, Dotcom's assertion is backed up by an analysis done last year by a researcher who goes by the name Forensicator, who determined that the DNC files were copied at 22.6 MB/s - a speed virtually impossible to achieve from halfway around the world, much less over a local network - yet a speed typical of file transfers to a memory stick.

The big hint

Last but not least, let’s not forget that Julian Assange heavily implied Seth Rich was a source:

Given that a) the Russian hacking narrative hinges on Crowdstrikes's questionable reporting, and b) a mountain of evidence pointing to Seth Rich as the source of the leaked emails - it stands to reason that Congressional investigators and Special Counsel Robert Mueller should at minimum explore these leads.
