"Perhaps the most shocking revelation contained in the excerpts from former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile’s book was, unsurprisingly, buried in a Washington Post overview of the various allegations (and frankly, we’re surprised the Post

In the aftermath of Wikileaks’ decision to publish a cache of emails stolen from the DNC’s servers, Donna Brazile says she became increasingly paranoid about both possible Russian efforts to sway the election. Surprisingly, she says top Democrats initially instructed her not to discuss her concerns with others.

But even more than the Russians, Brazile says she feared possible retribution from shadowy elements within the campaign and the Democratic Party who might blame her for the leak. Her fears only intensified, she says, after the mysterious shooting of former campaign staffer Seth Rich, who the authorities said was killed during a robbery, though many so-called conspiracy theorists have speculated about a possible Democratic plot to kill Rich for his role in leaking the stash of DNC emails to Wikileaks. Brazile's anxiety eventually spiraled out of control, to the point where she feared for her own life while serving as interim chairwoman of the DNC.

Brazile describes her mounting anxiety about Russia’s theft of emails and other data from DNC servers, the slow process of discovering the full extent of the cyberattacks and the personal fallout. She likens the feeling to having rats in your basement: “You take measures to get rid of them, but knowing they are there, or have been there, means you never feel truly at peace.”

Brazile writes that she was haunted by the still-unsolved murder of DNC data staffer Seth Rich and feared for her own life, shutting the blinds to her office window so snipers could not see her and installing surveillance cameras at her home. She wonders whether Russians had placed a listening device in plants in the DNC executive suite.

At first, Brazile writes of the hacking, top Democratic officials were “encouraging us not to talk about it.” But she says a wake-up moment came when she visited the White House in August 2016, for President Obama’s 55th birthday party. National security adviser Susan E. Rice and former attorney general Eric Holder separately pulled her aside quietly to urge her to take the Russian hacking seriously, which she did, she writes.

While she doesn’t elaborate on her reasons for suspecting that Rich’s death may have been a homicide, just the fact that Brazile says she, too, suspected that something nefarious might’ve been afoot is reason enough to take a second look at Rich’s death. Of course, if it’s true that Rich was killed as punishment for leaking the emails, then that would of course invalidata most of the evidence supporting the Russia interference narrative that has been propagated by the Democrats and their partners in the intelligence community.

Note: If Seth Rich's killing/murder was a "Failed Robbery Attempt", why would Brazille be in fear of loosing her life? She's about as "inside" the Democratic Party as you can get. Maybe she had good reason to be afraid?

DNC’s Donna Brazile Dedicated Her Book to ‘Patriot’ Seth Rich, Whose Death Made Her Fear for Her Own Life

By Max Kutner On 11/6/17 at 11:38 AM

Newsweek

A new book by Donna Brazile, the former interim chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), has been making headlines for its controversial claims about the 2016 presidential election and the Hillary Clinton campaign. But the provocative points start even before the first chapter, as Brazile reportedly dedicated the book in part to Seth Rich, the DNC staffer whose murder launched a conspiracy theory.

Axios reported on Sunday that the book's dedication reads, “In loving memory of my father, Lionel Brazile Sr.; my beloved sister, Sheila Brazioutlanle; my fearless uncles Nat, Floyd, and Douglas; Harlem’s finest, my aunt Lucille; my friend and mentor, David Kaufmann; my DNC colleague and patriot, Seth Rich; and my beloved Pomeranian, Chip Joshua Marvin Brazile (Booty Wipes). I miss y’all.”

Rich, 27, was fatally shot in July 2016 while walking home late at night in Washington, D.C. The police believe the shooting was a robbery gone wrong. But Rich worked for the DNC, and WikiLeaks published thousands of emails from the committee two weeks after his death. That timeline provoked theories that Rich had given the materials to WikiLeaks and that his death was an attempt to stop him from doing so, or to punish him for it.

Media reports had characterized Rich as a low-level staffer, and his parents wrote in an opinion piece for The Washington Post in May, “Those who have suggested that Seth’s role as a data analyst at the DNC gave him access to a wide trove of emails are simply incorrect.”

Rich appears elsewhere in Brazile’s book, as the Post reported earlier in the weekend. She wrote that Rich’s murder haunted her and that she'd installed surveillance cameras at her home and would keep the blinds in her office window closed so she could not be seen by snipers, according to the Post.

Brazile talked about Rich on ABC News’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. She told the host about her critics: “They don’t know what it was like to be over the DNC during this hacking. They don’t know what it’s like to bury a child. I did: Seth Rich.”

Brazile had spoken publicly about Rich’s death before. In March, she said she was going to an Omaha, Nebraska, synagogue to speak about him. In May, she tweeted, “Seth Rich was a hard worker and proud to be an American. This desire to scar Seth’s legacy to his country and party is shameful.” About two months later, after Fox News published a since debunked story about the case, she tweeted, “Seth was a good soul and look at this shameful act.”

Through spokesman Brad Bauman, the Rich family said in a statement, “Since Seth was murdered, Donna Brazile has been a great friend to the Rich family and has been extremely supportive of the family’s efforts to find Seth’s killers.”

In the book, out Tuesday, Brazile also writes that she weighed the possibility of replacing Clinton as the Democratic presidential nominee with former Vice President Joe Biden, according to the Post. She also reportedly wrote that Clinton’s campaign headquarters seemed “antiseptic, like a hospital,” and that she felt as though the Clinton campaign was treating her like a “slave.” In an excerpt that Politico published on November 2, she wrote about how the Clinton campaign worked out a fundraising agreement with the DNC and exercised control over the party long before Clinton became the nominee.

Former aides to the Clinton campaign have challenged Brazile’s claims. In a November 4 open letter, more than 100 former top aides wrote, “It is particularly troubling and puzzling that she would seemingly buy into false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent, about our candidate’s health.”

Brazile was not available for comment through her publisher, Hachette Book Group, or through Georgetown University, where she is a faculty member. The publisher was unavailable to verify the reported wording of the book dedication.

"Donna Brazile Says Seth Rich Murder Made Her ‘Fear For Her Life’

November 6, 2017 By Ari Feldman

The Forward | November 6, 2017

Donna Brazile, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, writes that she “feared for her life” after the killing of Seth Rich, the murdered DNC staffer, in June 2016. According to excerpts published by the Washington Post, Brazile began shutting the blinds of her office to thwart snipers and installed a security system in her private home.

Brazile also says she was worried that Russian spies had placed a bug in the DNC executive offices.

One of the central theories about Seth Rich’s killing — which remains unsolved — is that it was carried out on behalf of Hillary Clinton, on the basis that Rich had leaked the DNC’s emails to Wikileaks. Many conspiracy theorists believe that Clinton and former president Bill Clinton are responsible for a string of murders going back to the beginning of their political careers.

Intelligence analysts agree almost unanimously, however, that Russia hacked the DNC’s servers and provided the emails to Wikileaks, perhaps through an intermediary.

After the excerpts from Brazile’s book were published, conservative media outlets latched onto the story. The Gateway Pundit — a blog that often features conspiracies — published a story called “Why Would Donna Brazile Be in Fear For Her Life if Seth Rich’s Death Was Just a Random Late Night Mugging?”

Roger Stone, a one-time campaign adviser to Donald Trump and a major conspiracist, spoke on the Alex Jones show about the repercussions of Brazile’s statement.

Conservative activists and pundits took to Twitter to trumpet Brazile’s words.

On Saturday, Clinton’s 2016 campaign staff posted open letter to Brazile on Medium accusing Brazile of believing Russian propaganda. The letter was signed by dozens of former Clinton staffers, including Huma Abedin and John Podesta.

It is “troubling and puzzling that she would seemingly buy into false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent, about our candidate’s health,” the letter wrote.

On Sunday on ABC, Brazile fired back at the Clinton camp, telling them to “go to hell.”

“For those who are telling me to shut up — they told Hillary [Clinton] that a couple of months ago — you know what I tell them? ‘Go to hell,’” Brazile said. “I’m going to tell my story.”

In light of Brazile's comments, I find this year old story more interesting..

“Can’t we just drone this guy?” Clinton openly inquired, offering a simple remedy to silence Assange and smother Wikileaks via a planned military drone strike, according to State Department sources. The statement drew laughter from the room which quickly died off when the Secretary kept talking in a terse manner, sources said. Clinton said Assange, after all, was a relatively soft target, “walking around” freely and thumbing his nose without any fear of reprisals from the United States … Immediately following the conclusion of the wild brainstorming session, one of Clinton’s top aides, State Department Director of Policy Planning Ann-Marie Slaughter, penned an email to Clinton, Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, and aides Huma Abebin and Jacob Sullivan at 10:29 a.m. entitled “an SP memo on possible legal and nonlegal strategies re Wikileaks.”

“Nonlegal strategies.” How did that phrasing make it into an official State Department email subject line dealing with solving Wikileaks and Assange? Why would the secretary of state and her inner circle be discussing any “nonlegal strategies” for anything whatsoever? Against anyone? Shouldn’t all the strategies discussed by the country’s top diplomat be strictly legal only? And is the email a smoking gun to confirm Clinton was actually serious about pursuing an obvious “nonlegal strategy” proposal to allegedly assassinate Assange? Numerous attempts were made to try and interview and decipher Slaughter’s choice of email wording, however, she could not be reached for comment. Insiders said Slaughter is keeping a “low profile” in Princeton, NJ until she is nominated for a position in Clinton’s cabinet if the Democrat is elected in November. Likewise, True Pundit attempted to contact Mills, Abedin, and Sullivan for their perspectives on this story. None commented on the record."

"Donna Brazile: “They Don’t Know What It’s Like to Bury a Child. I did – Seth Rich.”

Donna Brazile went on ABC’s This Week on Sunday morning to discuss her comments and her book.

During her interview with George Stephanopoulos Donna Brazile dropped this bomb:

“Why am I supposed to be the only person who unable to tell my story? I’ve heard a lot of people tell me various things as well. But here’s what they don’t know. They don’t know what it was like to be over the DNC during this hacking. They don’t know what it’s like to bury a child. I did, Seth Rich.“

"But Brazile says she had a “spook,” with connections to the intelligence community, who told her after the killing that she needed protection for herself, including cameras, alarms and backup power at her house, and that she heeded his advice.

Brazile was so concerned with Rich’s death that she used her brief, only phone call from Hillary Clinton after the election loss to bring him up. She asked Clinton to use some of the millions of dollars the campaign had in order to set up a reward fund to find his murderer. But Hillary said she “really had to go.”

John Jones, Lawyer Who Defended Julian Assange, Died Under Mysterious Circumstances
Lukas Magnuson

"John Jones, the lawyer who in court defended Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, was found dead. This comes a month after Julian Assange released a batch emails on WikiLeaks that contained incriminating against Hillary Clinton's past transgressions. Jones, 48, died on August 15, 2016, of an apparent suicide. He was run over by a public train in Britain. He was pronounced dead at the West Hampstead train station in North London at 7: 07 AM.

Police have ruled out foul play and concluded that the lawyer committed suicide. WikiLeaks has since posted a counter-claim, stating that Jone's death involved foul play."

More old news..

"Assange Assassination Attempt? Cops Took 2 Hours To Respond To Embassy Breach"

zerohedge.com

The Wikileaks Twitter account reported early this week that an unidentified man attempted to scale the wall of the Ecuadorian Embassy in the U.K. at 2:47 am. The “cat burglar” escaped security and managed to flee to safety while embassy security waited two hours for U.K. police to take the two minute walk from the police station to the embassy housing internationally-known whistleblower Julian Assange.

The Wikileaks founder has been confined to the embassy since August 2012, when Ecuador granted Assange political asylum to keep him out of the British government’s jurisdiction. According to British Foreign Secretary William Hague, Assange would under no circumstances be granted safe passage out of the country.

The Ecuadorian and British governments have been at odds over this issue ever since, with Britain immediately threatening to revoke the embassy’s diplomatic status. Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino called the U.K.’s bluff at the time and continued to provide a safe haven for Assange. “I don’t think they will dare to infringe international law … Diplomatic headquarters cannot be broken into, we can’t imagine that happening,” Patino asserted back in 2012.

It appears U.K. police have been much more concerned about Assange regaining his freedom than protecting the embassy’s safety. At one point, Scotland Yard issued a 24-hour guard at the embassy at the expense of its citizens. According to the BBC:"

From The Intercept:

"The analysis by Binney and his colleagues aligns neatly with Trump’s frequent public skepticism of the intelligence community’s assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 campaign to damage Hillary Clinton’s candidacy and help elect Trump. The declassified summary of a U.S. intelligence community report, based on the work of the CIA, the FBI, and the NSA and made public in early January before Trump’s inauguration, stated that “Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election. Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.” Trump has frequently raged against the accusation that he won the presidency thanks to help from the Russians, labeling the charge “fake news.”

“The Director stands by, and has always stood by, the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment,” Boyd, the CIA spokesperson, said.

Binney’s claim that the email theft was committed by an insider at the DNC also helps fuel one of the more bizarre conspiracy theories that has gained traction on the right: that the murder of a young DNC staffer last year was somehow connected to the data theft. Binney said he mentioned the case of Seth Rich to Pompeo during their meeting."

In the 1990s, he co-founded a unit on automating signals intelligence with NSA research chief Dr. John Taggart.[6] Binney's NSA career culminated as Technical Leader for intelligence in 2001. Donna Brazile Questioned If Seth Rich’s Death Involved Russians, Or His Race
By Max Kutner On 11/8/17 at 11:04 AM
Newsweek

Donna Brazile, the former interim chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, once thought it was possible that the Russians had been involved in the death of DNC staffer Seth Rich or that he was killed because he was white, according to her new book.

In July 2016, Rich, 27, was shot and killed in Washington, D.C., while walking home at night. The police believe the shooting was a botched robbery, but because Rich worked for the DNC, theories emerged that the killing was related to thousands of committee emails being published by WikiLeaks two weeks after his death.

In Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-Ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House, which came out on Tuesday, Brazile wrote that she had her own theories about the murder. “Only to [her friend] Elaine could I say that I felt some responsibility for Seth Rich’s death. I didn’t bring him into the DNC, but I helped keep him there working on voting rights,” she wrote. “With all I knew now about the Russians’ hacking, I could not help but wonder if they had played some part in his unsolved murder. Besides that, racial tensions were high that summer and I worried that he was murdered for being white on the wrong side of town.”

She went on to say in the book that her friend doubted the theory about his race, “and I heard her,” and that “the FBI said that they did not see any Russian fingerprints there, but they promised to look into the case.” She added, “His death continued to tear me up inside.”

Later in the book, Brazile wrote that during the 2016 campaign she worried about traveling with her family members. “All I could think about was Seth Rich. Had he been killed by someone who had it out for the Democrats? Likely not, but we still don’t know. If they came after me like that, I didn’t want anyone else to get hurt.” She also wrote that she kept a picture of Rich on her wall, along with the poster offering a reward for information about the killing.

Brazile discussed Rich’s death at least once with Hillary Clinton, she wrote, in a phone call after the 2016 election. “Don’t forget the murder of Seth Rich, I told her. Did she want to contribute to Seth’s reward fund? We still hadn’t found the person responsible for the tragic murder of this bright young DNC staffer,” she wrote. Clinton apparently responded, “You’re right.... We’re going to get to that.” Then Clinton ended the call, according to Brazile.

"Donna Brazile: “I hope to God we find out who murdered Seth Rich”

Emotional former DNC chair cries over her “child”

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
November 10, 2017

During an appearance on a radio show, former DNC chair Donna Brazile said, “I hope to God we find out who murdered Seth Rich.”

Speaking with SiriusXM host Mark Thompson, Brazile, whose explosive new book Hacks has caused embarrassment for the Democratic establishment, spoke of her deep affection for Rich.

“He was my child. I loved him. He worked in the voting rights division, I was the vice chair over that division. He was one of two staff people. I love him, I miss him. He was a patriot,” said Brazile.

“I hope to God we find out who murdered Seth Rich,” she added.
Beginning to cry, Brazile responded to a question about her feeling responsible for his death by stating, “He was my child….I have been in politics all my adult life, the only children I have are the children that I have hired. They’re my children.”

In her book, Brazile also reveals that she was frightened for her life after Rich’s murder, beefing up her home surveillance and shutting the blinds in her office so she could not be seen by snipers.

The murder of Seth Rich remains unsolved, but the mainstream media continues to dismiss any questions about it as “conspiracy theories”.

Back in August, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh said he saw an FBI report leaked to him by an insider which confirmed that Rich had contacted Wikileaks with sample emails from the DNC leak and asked for payment for the full data dump.

Rich was murdered in an upscale area of Washington DC on July 10 last year but the killer or killers did not steal anything from the victim, rendering the police’s explanation that the incident was a robbery gone wrong doubtful.

Infowars reported on the questions surrounding Seth Rich’s murder multiple times back in August last year, including how there was around an hour and a half of “unaccounted for” time between Rich leaving a bar and being killed.

Brad Bauman, a crisis communications manager for the Democratic Party, was hired by RIch’s family to act as their spokesman. Bauman’s first action was to insist that people stop questioning the unsolved circumstances behind Rich’s murder.

For many the Democratic establishment’s attitude to leakers was crystallized by an email John Podesta sent to the Clinton campaign’s inner circle in February 2015, when he remarked, “I’m definitely for making an example of a suspected leaker whether or not we have any real basis for it.”

Does Donna Brazile Know Who Killed Seth Rich?

By Daniel John Sobieski

americanthinker.com

The real bombshell lurking in Donna Brazile’s stunning interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos about her new book Hacks may be her cryptic references to murdered DNC IT staffer Seth Rich and her statement that she took the precautions one takes when one fears for their life.

So far, speculation about the unsolved murder of Seth Rich have been dismissed as right-wing conspiracy theories but Brazile’s references to him in the light of all that has come out about Wikileaks, the Fusion GPS dossier, and Hillary’s purchase of the DNC that rigged the primaries against Bernie Sanders, may be a key to a missing piece of this whole puzzle.

Brazile, according to Newsweek, in a piece titled “DNC’S Donna Brazile Dedicated Her Book To ‘Patriot’ Seth Rich, Whose Death Made Her Fear For Own Life”, dedicated her book in part to Rich:

A new book by Donna Brazile, the former interim chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), has been making headlines for its controversial claims about the 2016 presidential election and the Hillary Clinton campaign. But the provocative points start even before the first chapter, as Brazile reportedly dedicated the book in part to Seth Rich, the DNC staffer whose murder launched a conspiracy theory.

Axios reported on Sunday that the book’s dedication reads, “In loving memory of my father, Lionel Brazile Sr.; my beloved sister, Sheila Brazioutlanle; my fearless uncles Nat, Floyd, and Douglas; Harlem’s finest, my aunt Lucille; my friend and mentor, David Kaufmann; my DNC colleague and patriot, Seth Rich; and my beloved Pomeranian, Chip Joshua Marvin Brazile (Booty Wipes). I miss y’all.” …Rich appears elsewhere in Brazile’s book, as the Post reported earlier in the weekend.
While Newsweek missed a comma in the dedication -- Brazile is actually calling David Kaufmann a patriot, not Seth Rich -- that doesn's change the meaning any.)

Why did Donna Brazile fear for her life after Seth’s Rich unsolved murder? Were these cryptic references a way of warning those who she feared might do her harm that more would be revealed after her possible demise? Only Donna Brazile can elaborate, and it is doubtful she will at this point.

Seth’s murder remains a mystery with no apparent motive, not even a robbery gone wrong. As the Daily Caller Investigative Group observes in a piece titled “Donna Brazile Has A Theory About Who Killed Seth Rich”:

From her book Hacks:

I felt some responsibility for Seth Rich’s death. I didn’t bring him into the DNC, but I helped keep him there working on voting rights. With all I knew now about the Russians’ hacking, I could not help but wonder if they had played some part in his unsolved murder. Besides that, racial tensions were high that summer and I worried that he was murdered for being white on the wrong side of town. [My friend] Elaine expressed her doubts about that, and I heard her. The FBI said that they did not see any Russian fingerprints there.

Brazile repeatedly returns to the subject of being haunted by Rich’s murder, even though other Democrats have pounced on anyone who suggested that the murder was anything other than a robbery gone wrong. The DNC data staffer was killed days before Wikileaks began publishing its emails, and his valuables were not taken.

The Russians did not provide Wikileaks with any purloined emails or other documents, according to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. As Fox News reported on Assange’s interview with Sean Hannity:

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange denied Thursday that hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta were stolen and passed to his organization by Russian state actors.

"Our source is not the Russian government," Assange told "The Sean Hannity Show."

"So in other words, let me be clear," Hannity asked, "Russia did not give you the Podesta documents or anything from the DNC?"

"That's correct," Assange responded.

Seth Rich, being a DNC IT staffer, if he did not provide the documents and emails to Wikileaks himself, might have been in a position to know who did and how. We do know the DNC denied the FBI access to the server that was allegedly hacked by the Russians:

The Democratic National Committee "rebuffed" a request from the FBI to examine its computer services after it was allegedly hacked by Russia during the 2016 election, a senior law enforcement official told CNN Thursday.

"The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated," a senior law enforcement official told CNN.

Perhaps Donna Brazile knows more about what the DNC was trying to hide from the FBI. Her shocking revelations in her book may be the tip of a rather large and unnerving iceberg. Perhaps Donna Brazile has an idea of who killed Seth Rich and why and that’s why she fears for her life.
