Ive got a couple of sets of the Tres Marias and they are fun to play with. If the rawhide gets weak, or they are a tourist type pair they will send one of the balls off in another direction, as the break close to where the ball is attached. I use rawhide cream on all of my rawhide riatas, boladoras, horse gear,etc.... Which can be purchased from places like Lost Buckaroo, The Hitching Post, Tipps Western Wear, J. M. Capriolas. Anywhere there is Buckaroo culture. Nevada, Idaho, California, Oregon,Utah.
Better sets tend to have round rocks within, some inlaid with alpaca silver tops, while lesser ones have ceramic inserts. If you throw them just right they shatter.
