Quick recommendation

"the wilderness guardian"

by tim corfield

Is a handbook written for park rangers here in Africa. I saw it in Mozambique a few years ago. Bought a copy here in Nairobi a few weeks ago. Covers emergency medicine, tracking, construction, flying planes, camping... Lots of cool stuff. Probably a novelty for most people, and they just reprinted this year so there are a few around.

Dont know if it can be bought on amazon.

But the book is dedicated to the memory of David Sheldrick who I think was the first warden of Tsavo West National Park.

Email those guys. I know they have some copies and for a small donation would probably ship it to you.

Thanks cochiseintheeast.

Perhaps along a similar line is Aids to Survival, put out by the West Aust Police-.
Whilst some of the info is regionally specific the general overall can be applied in many places.
Downloadable free here-
