Nothing to explain.

My pet Dwarf, my butler and my girlfriend and I were making amature porn. After the goatherd came in to retrieve the animals my girlfriend fluffed up a pillow after shocking my pet Dwarf's genitals with a cattle prod and the pillow fluffing knocked an empty can of coke three feet off an end table onto the my open laptop resting on the floor and hit the screet dead center and "screwed it up". I cannot really explain any further as to how it really happend.

I went with the Kohjinsha SX3.

Image

It's an 8.9" convertible tablet PC which is the only one I know of with a built in DVD-burner. Can be bought with XP or Vista and with either an SSD or hard drive option.

As my travel PC it is hard to beat. At this point, the only upgrades I may make are to take it to Windows 7 (Vista is slow but useable), and I might up the Hard drive size or go to a SSD.

List of specs:

Manufacturer Kohjinsha
Model name SX3
CPU type Intel Atom (Silverthorne) CPU speed 1330 Mhz
Graphics Intel GMA 500
OS Windows Vista Home Premium
Display Size 8.9" 1280 X 768
Display Type LED b/l,
RAM 2048 MB
Hard Disk 60 GB
Keyboard YES Mouse Pointer YES
Battery capacity 30 (Wh)
Weight 1200g Size (w/h/d mm) 225/185/33 mm

Physical Interfaces
ExpressCard/34, VGA, Multi-format card reader, Line-out / Headphone,MIC-in, USB2.0 (x2), Ethernet 10/100

Wireless Interfaces

Additional Specs:
Front and rear cameras
Internal DVD R/W

I have had an ASUS Eee 900 HA for a few months now. It does not have a DVD drive, and to be honest I don't miss it. I already use Power ISO to make virtual disks, so making a virtual disk for MS Office 2007, etc, etc was not a big deal. For under 300 USD you are not going to beat this computer. I upgraded to 2 gigs of RAM just for the heck of it and still came in around 300 USD, oh wait I lied... I also got a nice case for it.

Not to knock Bouncers computer, but this one has a faster processor. It does lack a touch screen, and DVD however. The keyboard does take some getting used to, but it is usable, granted I would not want to type a long document on it.

It really is an awesome computer. Mine runs XP, but I was reading that when windows 7 comes out that it will be less resource hungry than Vista. If so I may upgrade.

Check it out.

can anyone recommend an antivirus software that can run from a jump drive or that doesn't take much memory.

an internet cafe in cairo ate my photos on my jump drive. do you know if there is a way to recover them?

If you have a 2 gig or larger USB drive try portable apps. http://portableapps.com/

I have it on most of my thumb drives and I like it a lot. Open Office, Gimp, Games, firefox (you can take your favorites for computer to computer and it is not supposed to leave a trace), and much more. It also has http://www.clamwin.com/

I've heard good things about portable apps.

I use avast but it seems it takes up around 75 mb and might be too large just to have around on a thumb drive. Don't know about photo recovery. I've had problems with not being able to access my usb drive in various internet centers but still being able to throw the pics on. I always carried a version of picasa on mine for ease of uploading to gphotos. If you want pay just a tinsy bit you can store everything online with amazon s3 (http://aws.amazon.com/s3/)
