Nalgene/canteen cups

Postby Scotty » Sun Mar 14, 2010 12:29 am

I was looking for a titanium cup that a nalgene bottle would fit inside. I had a Vargo titanium cup, but it was a flimsy piece of you know what, so I have a GSI Glacier stainless cup that's 1/3 to 1/4 the price. The thing is that according to my experience, the titanium mug conducted heat better (heated up water faster) when using a trioxane tab, so I'm still kind of leaning that way.

Anybody know about the other titanium cups out there like Snow Peak or other alternatives (non-military)?

Thanks.

Seems like it would be easier/better to find a titanium cup you were happy with, and then find a water bottle that fit inside it. SIGGs, etc. are narrower than Nalgenes and might work well.

On a similar note: if anyone's found a steel/titanium/aluminum cup that nests with an 850mL Kleen Kanteen you could save me a lot of looking.

they used to sell the cup by itself - i have one, it got dented and now the bottle just fits more snugly. never ended up using the lid.
