Use your iPhone to speak foreign phrases in a flawless accent

iLingual from Emirates is now available to download for free, from the iTunes app store.

iLingual allows you to choose from over 400 travel related phrases, ranging from directions in the airport to buying an all-in-one ski suit, and then to speak them flawlessly using your iPhone.

The app is available in three languages: French, German and Arabic, and in lite (6Mb) or full size (80Mb+) versions.

To get started, download the app from the Apple store, take a picture of your mouth and adjust for best fit. Then simply select a phrase and hold the iPhone in front of your lips to make it look as if you’re speaking the phrase in Arabic, French or German, depending on which version of the app you have.

You can select a male or female voice and adjust the pitch to make it deeper or higher.

Each language has a full version with all 400 phrases, or a ‘Lite’ version that can be downloaded via 3G.

You can download them at the following links:

Wow this is a phenomenal invention if it works as well as I hope. I'm curious to see a) if it catches on and b) what other languages they grow to support...
Now if only I had one of them fancy Innernet phones I could check BFC even more often.
