Anyone ever had a cell phone booster antenna work?

Anyone ever had a cell phone booster antenna work? I see them available, but don't imagine they work. Well maybe if the phone can physically connect via USB or propriety interface.

They use'em all over the place here in the UK

Do you know what type? Maybe a make/model?

If there was something that worked, I would like to try it out.

Do you think being near Madagascar may be a reason your reception is dodgy?

RYP, if you're on Sprint or Verizon for US domestic use, you can call customer service to ask about the femtocell options... They're trialing small routers you can place in your house which will talk directly to the phone and route traffic over your house's net connection. Right now they are for people in marginal coverage areas or no service indoors in their house.

but it's likely you're on t-mob or AT&T instead...

It's not a booster antenna, it's an actual miniaturized 2G CDMA/1xRTT base station:

Yes, the best option is to find a Nokia 6310 and connect a antenna directly to it.

Will check it out. But I honestly think there are three rules in cel business

1) Regardless of carrier your reception sounds like crap in your house
2) The longer you are with one carrier the worse your coverage gets (I think its a multiplexing thing)
3) Cel phones are crappier and crappier. I was just admiring my first Crackberry and noticed how well built it was compared to my newest one with the eensy weensy keys that are already worn out. In fact My first mobile car phone was crystal clear and built like a brick shit house..and weighed the same.

If you have a newer phone that supports WIFI just use Skype or google talk at home. Can use computer or most "better" phones have those apps and work spiffy.

brick shit house

Maybe that can be the next RYP product rather then a knife? The RYP "Brick Shit House" Blackberry. Shipping in December!

We live in a remote area in Montana. We use these with our cell service, powered by a 12v battery, solar panels, and/or generator... and we get 3-4 bars. It works, which is why I recommend them. Good Luck.
