Satellite Phones

Postby ochunter375 » Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:30 am

I'm doing some remote backpacking in the Adirondack mountains in the near future and would like to rent a Sat phone for the trip. Cell phones have no coverage in most the Adirondacks. Anybody have any experience with Sat phones? Do they really work in remote areas? What about if your blocked by a tree canopy? Also what would be the best service provider/phone? Any recommended rental places. Thanks

Don't be gay.
Why do you need a sat. phone in the Adirondacks?
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

I bet that no one who has started a Sat-Phone thread here has actually bought one

I think I started a satphone thread last year, after getting an Iridium 9555 working in Snow Leopard...
