1973 712M For Sale Massachusetts
Looking to change things up a little. So I have a nice clean good running pinzgauer with Massachusetts title. Everything works as it should all lockers lights etc. I have replaced the rub rails with steel C channel. It has etrack in the back and 12 seat belts for the etrack has a heavy duty rear trailer hitch reciever with built in steps and T-Lo hub steps. Good Rubber. It has the upgraded LED Headlights. Included but not install is the civilian ignition conversion with petronix as well as a set of the newer style seat bottoms. Has 20,000 km on the clock. Soft top is in good condition. Vehicle does not leak any fluids. Vehicle has been very well maintained. Orignally came from Stauffer's in Wisconsin. I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere. I'm willing to drive it within 100 miles for delivery provided you give me a return ride and cover gas It is driven regularily and have driven over an hour Highway to a couple of all day(6+ hours of driving) off road trail riding events and hour back so an 8 hour trip.
First $14,500 takes it

WTF do you know Pinzgauer-is ghetto-policeproof

Postby Hitoru » Mon Jan 09, 2012 4:45 am

0300. (we were) stuck in a drainage ditch in the Acres Homes ghetto before the cops showed up. This neighborhood is a DP at night.

The cops were "what the fuck ?" I said "this is just something we do " as we got it unstuck and drove it up a 13 ft embankment.

The community has 9 square miles (23 km2) of land. Acres Homes had 8,548 housing units in 2002; 31% were rental units.[1] the layout of Acres Homes could be described as "rurban," a word coined in 1918 which describes an area with a mix of urban and rural characteristics.[5] Undeveloped land permeates Acres Homes in a checkerboard-like pattern.[6]

Just Hauled my second Pinzgauer back from Missouri last weekend, stole it for $3900.
I now have one for town and one for the farm, I'm stoked. The cops aren't liking them . Told me maybe I shouldn't be driving them around.

Maybe they shouldn't pay for their ninja-turtle outfits with the taxpayers wallet.

Hitoru - we have a couple of those in town, that are used by a local "adventure" company. I'll see if I can get a pic to post up.

Thanks I appreciate it.
I have to take another look on how many are in the country- legally. I'm guessing circa 30k.
There were batches of Pinzgauers that went to the state of Georgia that are not supposed to be registered for the road and are subject to seizure and destruction by the feds.

Re: Pinzgauer vs Landrover

Postby Hitoru » Tue Sep 17, 2013 10:07 pm

I meant 3 K when I typed 30
I read there are approximately 4500 Pinzgauers in the US of A.

Pinzgauers are superior off road vehicles than Land Rovers in every aspect. Climbing, fording and mudding. The Pinzgauer has a greater load capacity 1000kg v 895kg Landrover 110 Stationwagon.

Image
As you can see the Pinzgauer is slightly longer than a Landrover 90, its wheelbase is however ever so slightly shorter! The space inside a Pinzgauer is much bigger because of the cab-forward design.

The Pinzgauer is much shorter than a 110 Landrover, however it still has a longer load area. Here the approach angles of the Pinzgauer win.

The Pinzgauer can wade deeper, 700mm v 500mm for the Landrover. M y second pinzgauer can wade deeper as it has taller tires. Plus I've waded deeper than recommended.

Here I'm comparing a 40 year old Pinzgauer to a late model Landrover, the Landrover is better on the road with a higher top speed and better fuel consumption, but things would be more equal in these departments if it was against a 40 year old Landrover. (if you could get one to start}
