Morgan 3 wheeler update

Postby Kurt » Thu Mar 22, 2012 2:07 am

My build date is December 17th.

It is slightly less than 1 year late which is actually pretty good.

Bizarre. I think the British carry the tradition thing a little too far. At least it's not a Reliant Robin. More power to you anyway. Since it weighs less than half as much as a Miata, at least that transmission shouldn't cause you to fail to proceed.

I've want to drive one since I was 12 or so. A blown engine on three wheels has to be fun.
I think I've seen at least one in the old Harrah's auto museum in the 70's.

I expected this. When I ordered it I was told "January 2012...maybe later....maybe two or three years later...but we hope not"

But, the non BS part about buying a car from Morgan is this:

The price you see online is the price you pay.

Yep, no bargaining, no "option bloat" just you say "I want this" and they say "OK"

But yah, you gotta wait ...in my case 1 1/2 years.

I like the idea of a three wheeler. I think it has the potential to handle pretty well.

Top Gear did a review of it among other open top "track cars" and it was not the fastest or the best handling but it did do the best donuts.

From what I have read is its handling is not good in the conventional sense, but apparently once you learn how to take control of the rear wheel that constantly breaks out from under you, then you can turn that into "quick handling".

But I shall see...

That has to be the stupidest car I've ever seen. Its a scooter with an extra wheel. I guess if you were really drunk and swerving all over the road it wouldn't tip over.
