A Low budget take on the Paris to Dakkar Rally.

I'd be up for this.

One of the competing groups was called Medicins Sans Frontyres

These folks are cool.

But what kinda car can you get for 100 pounds? Obviously, someone needs to 'donate' a vehicle if you want to be competitive(meaning, in this case. finish the race).

That would be fun, though. On the other hand, that's a lot of time in a beat-up car. Still, if I had a team and a car, I might consider it.....

Say Kurt, isn't some left-hand driver supposed to be knocking on your door soon?

Yah,

I'll ask him to buy a left hand beater (why does that sound weird?) when he gets back.

Hey, we should all chip in and buy these guys a GPS to take with them.
Sounds like fun -

I saw a beater 70's vintage Subaru 4x4 SW that would be perfect for this rally.

I think

I think we should field a BFC Ladies Team composed of:

Dawn (Mechanic), Swizzeram (Navigator) and Kasca (Driver), and of course Mach fawning all over them at every stop...."Oh Swizzer' do you have need to take the waters?"..or..." Oh Dawn, Now THAT's a Wrench!"...or still better, "Kasca, the red mud caked on your cheeks looks so lovely in the setting Sun, you know?"( Kasca) "One more crack like that pal and I'll be ginding yours into some!"

And think of ALL the armchair quarterbacks here at the BFC giving all manner of advice from the comfort of their little cubicles! OH Joy!

Actually, I think this thing WOULD be a hoot to run....If only we COULD field a financially solvent team, as it seems a lot of folks here, including myself, are a little bit short on greenbacks these days!

Ok, I gotta' ask Swizzerams, "How much for the beater Subaru?"!
