First aid kits.

Postby Q » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:43 pm

Looking for something high speed, low drag.

I currently have an M3 medic kit, but am looking to upgrade. Any suggestions?

If you would also, add your "unusual" items that you carry in your kit.

For example: I carry tampons for bullet wounds, in mine. Great for stopping heavy bleeding.

TIA.

Make your own.Buy the stuff individually (it will probably cost you more but at least you will be carrying what you need).
Quikclot is a good beginning.

Might want to try Traumadex instead of Quickclot. QC will give you a 3rd degree burn if the field isn't completely dry. Traumadex works just as well, and will prevent you from needing to tourniquet when far from help. Hence, less probability of an avoidable amputation.

YMMV.

qc works if correctly applied. and no or limited burns. make sure you have some deco needles and some acs. couple of tq's. superglue and duct tape are great for everything you can imagine.
