BFC Product Review: Coke with Lime

Postby Kurt » Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:11 pm

I accidentally bought a bottle of Coca Cola with Lime today, thinking I'd just bought a regular bottle of coke.

I don't like it. It tastes slightly like it was flavored with some type of citrus soap.

It bacame more drinkable once I added the juice of half a lime to it. The real lime juice covered up the "lime flavor" (natural according to the label) nicely.

Luckily I jsut bought a 20oz instead of the big one.

I don't like any of the flavored coke products.
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

Rum and lime flavored Coke is nice. Barcardi will do, if that's all you have. The coke & fresh lime hides the fact that you're drinking sub-standard rum.

I don't mind the Diet Coke w/ Lime.
It's what I always get at work.

However, nothing beats going 1/2 pepsi, 1/4 kahlua, 1/4 vodka.
That's good shit.

Or a creation of mine a few years ago, the "Ja-Hoo."
Get a bottle of Yoo-Hoo!, drink half of it, refill with Jager,
cap and shake.
The kind of mix only desperation in the barracks can come up with.
When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? To surrender dreams - -this may be madness; to seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness! But maddest of all - -to see life as it is and not as it should be.

TCR, the only thing that MAY beat your concoction is a Dark and Stormy (to be sipped after a long day of sailing). Mix ginger beer and Goslings dark rum. yum.
Omit needless words.

Right on ya LR I drink them all summer. First had them in Bermuda. Hooked ever since. Dark rum and ginger beer is a match made in heaven. Hard to find good ginger beer in these parts. Oh and don't forget a good squeeze of fresh lime with that!

Best,

Best Ginger beer is Reeds I think.

Just never ever drink Bacardi...stuff is like cough syrup once you have had real rum.

Coke with real lime juice is beautiful, while Vanilla coke is quite nice and I just love Cherry Coke.
I'm trying like hell to wean myself off sweet things and I'm failing badly just now.
Change the subject quick.Talk about carrots instead.

Re Rum ...

Hello Folks, Hello Folks ...

The musings about [Lime Coke] and Rum beg a response: Dark & Stormy's are acceptable, as are mixing with good Ginger Beer. However, being a resident of GodZone I can only suggest that real appreciation of the juice of the sugar cane comes in squarish-shaped bottles with a Polar Bear upon, and the recently-released "Black" is particularly nice just with ice; on the sub-continent "Dr Monk" has some medicinal qualities that are awful hard to beat! Elsewhere "Old Navy" is OK, too!

Bugger, what a thread to get into when I'm working in Sudan!!

Actually, I stick with diet Coke. The regular has so much fucking sugar in it, I feel like climbing the walls after drinking it. I don't buy all the paranoia re: aspartame and drink it anyway. Although, drinks sweetened with Splenda taste better.

coke

Postby SirJohnofCartagena » Fri Apr 01, 2005 3:17 am

Anything has got to be better than vanilla coke. Its the aftertaste that makes it the worst drink out there. I miss the good old days of surge.
Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
