What's the funniest movie ever?

Obviously some are going to be left out, so I just looked around for a while and these were some of the most common suggestions. Feel free to add your own list.

Innocent Blood-Vampire flick

Postby MJK » Wed Jun 30, 2004 11:22 pm

I spotted when Robert Loggia sits up on an autopsy table, pulls a meat thermometer out of his liver and pushes past a very stunned medical examiner. Also priceless was one of his henchmen commenting on the boss's return to life-"I'm tellin' ya two hours ago he was dead as a dodo....and this...THIS is NO improvement..."

Dr Strangelove is an interesting film - the first time you watch it, it doesn't seem very funny. It's only after a couple of viewings that you realise it's possibly the funniest movie ever made.

I also like Lolita.

And, in no particular order:

Duck Soup
Annie Hall
Bringing up Baby
Kind Hearts and Coronets (I really like those old Ealiing comedies: The Ladykillers, The Lavender Hill Mob, ect)
The Lady Eve (Probably the sexiest comedy ever made in America)
Trouble in Paradise
The Apartment
Being There
Spinal Tap
and of course
Flying High/Airplane

I never really thought of Kurasowa's works as funny, but there were a few moments.

Supertroopers
Bad Santa
Office Space
Boondock Saints
Oh, and John Q.
When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? To surrender dreams - -this may be madness; to seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness! But maddest of all - -to see life as it is and not as it should be.

I was really torn between Monty Python and Dr. Strangelove, which is more subtle, as Dim noted.
