Interesting question. I feel all these influences had to occur at some point. You have to go through shit to get beyond it.

Eventually even capitalism will be transcended by something else because growth is finite on this planet.

Where is the USA option?

I went with communism, but it has the advantage that there were a lot more people around to fuck over than in the times of large scale slavery, catholicism etc. I think the big C has it on sheer force of numbers though.

Mankind's biggest scourge has been the capacity to reason. I voted science, which I reckon is the closest thing.

Passion is necessity. It is not diligence, or simply being committed to a goal. Passion consumes you while you chase down your goal. Passion should always be your natural state of mind for it is what sparks momentum and sets the pace.

Harv,

Yes, reason is a terrible thing. I'm more into the primal force of feeling, a state in which all strong emotion becomes automatically self-justifying. Personally I think we should get back to living in tree tribes, slinging shit at each other and masturbating all day long. Then we wouldn't have to put up with Sri Lanky's posts anymore.

I blame haemorrhoids on science. If you didn't have science, you wouldn't know you had haemorrhoids.
