alternate theories regarding collision energy levels needed to produce h-b also exist but require modification to the standard model particles and/or sundry interaction mechanisms as they stand.
currently, evidence may exist in data so far collected (from 3.5 to 7 tev collision phase that just ended) but will take a while (6 months to year) to analyze sufficiently.
final answer: more research needed as yet, but if nothing is forthcoming by feb 2011 (from this last proton-proton phase), status should be determined reliably by end of 2011 early 2012.
