Looking for fixer in Kurdistan

Postby HrH » Fri May 14, 2010 7:09 pm

Hey,
This is my first post so, hello to all. I am currently in the process of getting a show together
that I will be shooting in Kurdistan. The show is called "Notes from a Vanishing Tribe". It
revolves around "Tribes" that live under repressive/oppressive regimes or "tribes" that are
losing their cultural identity usually by western intervention. The angle is to highlight the
music they create, even under harrowing conditions.

The kurds have a rich musical history. And I'm sure we can all agree that their music is
performed in sometimes less than ideal conditions.

I need a chap that is familiar with the northwestern Zagros & Eastern Taurus regions.
And has done this work before. Any ideas, tips or names would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
HrH

Why not just talk to the folks you'll be filming?
Alternately you could ask these folks to hook you up: pkkiletisim@gmail.com

There is something to be said while lugging a skeleton crew around that you have a
good idea about where you are and where your going. A good fixer can make the
right introductions and be far more useful in time and energy than, kinda asking
around "what's up?"
Thanks for the addy Cold, I don't know who it's too, but will still chase it up.

Another "Post and Dash"

Why do people still bother answering "How do I get a job in (insert adventure job here)", "Student wishing to (Insert Adventure) over the summer break", "looking for advice on (insert war zone)" - Especially when it is that persons 1st post ever. 99.999999% of the time they never come back after they make the post

Thanks guys for the very gay ( n' happy ?) responses. I know that finding a good fixer on the internet is..... well, stoopid.
However, I was hoping to hook in with a well traveled and savvy crew on this site. Still, it's been enjoyable to be hanging and reading the posts.
