Mr Hayward, whose pay package is £4 million a year, then paid off the mortgage on his family’s mansion in Kent, which is estimated to be valued at more than £1.2 million.
There is no suggestion that he acted improperly or had prior knowledge that the company was to face the biggest setback in its history.
His decision, however, means he avoided losing more than £423,000 when BP’s share price plunged after the oil spill began six weeks ago.
Since he disposed of 223,288 shares on March 17, the company’s share price has fallen by 30 per cent. About £40 billion has been wiped off its total value. The fall has caused pain not just for BP shareholders, but also for millions of company pension funds and small investors who have money held in tracker funds.
Which means they kept 56% of their BP stock. If your point is that they were operating on some kind of insider knowledge to avoid losing money on the stock, you'd think they'd have sold it all, or at least switched the percentages. Of course that would mean that they knew the oil would spill, and if they had had that kind of knowledge, you'd think they'd have fixed it beforehand.
Or made a shit-ton of money off the knowledge, one of the two.

...Boots & Coots has two core businesses. First, there is Pressure Control, which involves prevention and risk-control services for oil- and gas-well fires and blowouts. A key to this area was the acquisition of John Wright, which developed sophisticated technologies to measure well integrity.
Next, Boots & Coots has a Well Intervention division, which helps enhance production for oil and gas operators. This business is likely to benefit nicely from the trend toward unconventional resource plays (such as extracting energy from shale). Boots & Coots greatly expanded this division with the acquisitions of Oil States International and StassCo.
Why Is Dick Cheney Silent on the Oil Spill?
The former vice president is usually a vociferous defender of his time in government. But not on the disaster in the gulf.
...But facing a firestorm of criticism over the oil spill, he's been notably silent.
More than national security, energy policy and the oil industry might be considered Cheney's real areas of expertise. He was chairman and CEO of oil-services company Halliburton between 1995 and 2000. And, of course, he worked prominently on energy policy as vice president from 2000 to 2008.
Halliburton was working on the Deepwater Horizon rig just before it blew up, opening the well and sending oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. Some experts have speculated that the company may have been to blame for the explosion. The pro-oil atmosphere (and Cheney's continued links to Halliburton) during his vice presidency, have also come to the fore since the April 20 accident.
...His ears ringing with the cries of "Cheney's Katrina," a title many are striving to bestow on the gulf oil spill, one might expect the former VP to convene journalists for a speech...The closest we have this time is Liz Cheney, Dick's daughter, arguing with Arianna Huffington on ABC's This Week.
We wondered why. Are the claims too substantial to refute? Is Cheney so incensed that he cannot trust himself to speak? Or, conversely, is he perhaps so sanguine about the entire issue that he doesn't feel it merits comment? We reached out to Cheney, via the American Enterprise Institute, to ask. But, perhaps unsurprisingly, there was no response by the time we posted this.
Ok... For all you guys that love a good mystery/conspiracy theory?...
Did you know the Sec of the Navy (Ray Mabus) has been asked to develop the Gulf Oil Spill Clean up Plan?... The interesting part/question becomes is this is the same Mabus that Nostral-domus named as his 3rd antichrist?... The other two he named were NAPAULON ROY (Napoleon) and Hister (Hitler)... Hmmmm... Hehehe... (sorry, couldn't resist & I probably shouldn't goof on things like this)... Especially if that well keeps pumping oil, surely the sea is already starting to turn red fercrissakes... (((GULP))).. hehe...
The Mabus, Nostradamus, End of the World Connection
Nostradamus predicted three antichrists.
For those that believe, the first was:
NAPOLEON BONAPARTE
An Emperor will be born near Italy, He will cost his Empire very dearly: He is less a prince than a butcher. - Nostradamus (1555)
The second was:
HIƒTER = HITLER
ADOLF HITLER
The third is:
THE THIRD AND FINAL ANTICHRIST... MABUS
World War III begins when Mabus dies a sudden death.
Century 2, Quatrain 62
Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.
Now, I don't put any stock in this stuff, but I am certainly willing to provide the incoming SECNAV extra protection....just in case I'm wrong.

No.
Mabus is not the antichrist; he is the facilitator of the antichrist. Do your research through the quatrains again. When Mabus Dies, it will be the catalyst for the Antichrist to seize absolute power.
What is important to point out is who Ray Mabus was and who he is today. Many Nostradamus Scholars (and I am not one) think that Mabus will be either of middle eastern decent or education.
“A founder of sects , much trouble for the accuser:
A beast in the theater prepares the scene and plot.
The author ennobled by acts of older times;
the world is confused by schismatic sects.”
Century I, Quatrain 45
Mabus was appointed by President Bill Clinton to be the United States ambassador to Saudi Arabia and served from 1994 to 1996. It is important to note that he was ambassador at the times of the bombings of OPM-SANG in Riyadh and the Khobar Towers, as well as the Renewal of the Taif treaty between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. http://www1.american.edu/TED/ice/saudi-yemen.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khobar_Towers_bombing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_te ... ents,_1995
“Naval battle night will be overcome,
Fire in the ships to the West ruin:
New trick, the great ship colored,
Anger to the vanquished, and victory in a drizzle.”
Century IX, Quatrain 100
“ Mabus then will soon die, there will come
Of people and beasts a horrible rout:
Then suddenly one will see vengeance,
Hundred, hand, thirst, hunger when the comet will run.”
Century II, Quatrain 62
I think these two Quatrains go well together. Ray Mabus is nominated to become the Next secretary of the Navy. Mabus served two years in the Navy as a surface warfare officer from 1970 to 1972 onboard the USS Little Rock. one of the current MAJOR missions of the navy is Ballistic Missile defense, with BMD capable AEGIS ships based in Japan, Hawaii, and the Western US coast (ships to the West). Interestingly enough look at the command crests of the Missile Defense agency and the AEGIS BMD programs from a vexillologist’s perspective.

The missiles being defeated appear to be quite comet-like. A likely scenario is that the SecNav would be onboard a BMD platform planning to engage and defeat a Ballistic threat. The ship he is on is attacked by surprise by a threat that went undetected to that point (New trick, the great ship colored), perhaps a new stealth technique or submarine. Obviously the Vanquished would be angered and that would led to Quatrain 62 of Century II . The Comet that runs could be allusion to the undefeated Ballistic missile that, coupled with a surprise attack on US forces, triggers the third world war.
“The antichrist very soon annihilates the three,
twenty-seven years his war will last.
The unbelievers are dead, captive, exiled;
with blood, human bodies, water and red hail covering the earth.
Century VIII, Quatrain 77”

A little off subject..but another thing that bothers me...
"A horrible undoing of people and animals"
The mentioning of animals seems of important significance...it makes me wonder about the reasons so many animals are affected....
It's kind of scary...it leans in the direction of a large enough disaster to affect so many animals and not just humans...
