Still rocking my Suunto Core. Numerous helicopter rides, walking through disgusting Iraqi canals, an EFP explosion, etc, etc and still going strong. Compass was just as accurate as using an old-school lensatic, came in handy for satellite stuff. Don't use the Alt/Baro at all. It came with dual time, which is useful for holding local time at Zulu, although it tends to lose a few seconds. Overall I'm happy with it.

normally i wear my 15 yr old rolex submariner. while deployed i wear a casio pathfinder. has all the bells & whistles. hell, it even tells time. left the rolex at home in case i get whacked - my oldest son will have an heirloom from Dad.

this is the largest, longest, gayest thread ever on the Flag. And then James writes an article about tactical watches putting the gay salad dressing on it all. A watch is a friggin watch.

I recently got a new watch. It's a timex expedition "digital compass" model. So far, so good.

I can't find a jpeg or gif image of it online and too lazy to post a photo. ;-)

I threw my Suunto watch in the garbage. It wasn't a timex - it didn't take a licking and keep on ticking, but it did take a licking.

Well, I am down in Cornwall for the next couple of weeks, so I have set my watch back forty years, found a stick to push in the sand, that will do fine , as long as the weather lasts. All I need is an approximation of when the pub opens.
