Sat phone rental

I'm doing some remote backpacking in the Adirondack mountains in the near future and would like to rent a Sat phone for the trip. Cell phones have no coverage in most the Adirondacks. Anybody have any experience with Sat phones? Do they really work in remote areas? What about if your blocked by a tree canopy? Also what would be the best service provider/phone? Any recommended rental places. Thanks

Your post were not deleted. I post the topic in 2 different sections. Tools. I not being gay with the sat phone. I normally would not rent a sat phone for that kind of trip, but my wife is pregnant.
