when I took the handle off you could see that instead of the blade being tanged and coming all the way back into the hilt they had just welded on a threaded
bolt, that in turn let you see the appalling wood and paper-thin leather used for the hilt....a shoddy job and poor workmanship.

Wow that's fooked up. I've never had any problems with Cold Steel. But I've never had one of their swords...don't know if I ever will after hearing that. Damn I really like their Katana too.

Crap...I ordered the hand and a half dagger when I was drunk.

I figured it would complete both my weapon / nerd trifecta.

If you want a proper sword you realisticly need to forge your own or pony up and get a custom job.

My bachelor party was supposed to be a feral boar hunt but only one of my guys was willing to pony up. We both got the CS boar spears. Solid. I gave my groomsmen CS "Highlander" sgian dubhs. Also solid. Overall, CS makes good production knives for the money.

I'd never buy one of their swords, though. Swords are an entirely different animal.

It will be fine for a "cool" blade - just don't use it

Are Daggers legal in NYC?

There are many things that are legal here as long as they never leave your apartment. Going outside with a large dagger is a way to communicate to the world "unstable white guy....better call 911 so the cops can shoot him"

You are correct. But only when they wield wallets or are at a bachelor party.
