RYP,

I know that you are probably tired of answering these questions, but If you would indulge me I would greatly appreciate it. In regards to the BF fiasco and fallout, will one stop knife shop be receiving their shipment of the regular production models? I have had an order in over there for a while and I am now aware that the BF owner has a vested interest in this business. I believe my concern is obvious.

Thanks
Brandon

of course Kevin gets his order. And we hope he sells a lot of DPx Product. If he can't then we have plenty of other dealers waiting.

We are a business that is run on actual products, sales and customers, not crudely formed opinions or dysfunctional internet geeks. It was his call to shut down the DPx forum and my choice to stop providing content and traffic for him. I don't see a lot of large manufacturers spending a lot of time on his site and I see a whole lot of people posting on a Friday night when they should be out doing something more productive. Like living. Our products aren't really made for internet geeks :))

Thanks for the reply RYP. I will not take up anymore space regarding this nonsense on your forum. I posted my question in this thread because someone sent me a link telling me I could find info here, then I see that it seems like everyother thread is discussing this folder and when things are happening. I will patiently await the arrival of my order and beat the ever loving hell out it when I receive it.

Enjoy,
Brandon

Brandon,

We look forward to your review and photos. BTW Bladeforums not my forum by Kevin Shlossberg who also sells knives as One Stop Knife shop. As a knife dealer I have no concerns with Kevin. As the owner and controller of a forum I have serious concerns.

I have repeatedly suggested that he cull his herd over there due to unwarranted threats, stalking and just plain stupid behavior. I understand that its a numbers game but its not healthy and has serious legal pitfalls when maintain a culture of tortuous interference towards businesses and individuals. As you can see on this forum we rarely censor people but we don't allow threatening or abusive behavior. And we don't sell stuff or even carry ads. Its a forum hosted by myself and the hard working folks at Ingle.

After a number of people began to insult and stalk my customers, I asked Kevin to simply delete the DPx Gear Forum he set up on his site but he refuses. I posted the stalkers business address and photo and invited him to discuss whatever was ailing him. He apologized.

Yesterday a moderator actually began to clean up their act by tossing the usual obsessive suspects off of a simple product review so perhaps he is going to actually let folks talk about knives in a productive environment. For now all DPx Customers or potential customers are welcome here to discuss whatever they want.

In any case Kevin has a bunch of DPx HEST folders for sale

Cricket, contact customerservice@dpxgear.com.

I want to get your knife back to the factory so we can look at it, tune it and make it perfect. In the meantime we will send you a production loaner to use and abuse.

I just looked at Kevin's Online Store at his listing for the HEST /F.

He's selling them for $250 (the LE Price) instead of every other store's $175, but that's his prerogative. The part that's uncalled for is his commentary in red below. I've never heard of a respectable dealer that would use his website to slam the product of one of its manufacturers that the vendor chose to sell. Being able to be a vendor for a product is a privilege not a right.

The dealer I bought my HEST/F through was kept informed by DPx throughout the whole process so the statement below seems highly unqualified.

ESEE Knives DPX HEST Folder
Part #: ESEE-DPX-HEST-F
Regular Price: $252.00
On Sale: $250.00
You Save: 1%

DPx Gear is Designed by Robert Young Pelton for professionals who work, travel and serve in hostile environments.

PRE-ORDER, first run expected in DEC 2010!

We can't honestly say anymore if these are ever coming in!

RYP - I couldn't help but notice you have some heavy Land Rover content, do you own any? I've got a few, hence why I asked.

On a side note, I recently purchased the HEST Fixed and absolutely think it's great. I have a pseudo-preorder in for the HEST Folder (not "officially" in the first round, though the outfit I purchased from is hoping they can bump me up once they sort the preorders), and I look forward to that as a EDC.
