...chambered in .22LR.
That wouldn't be such a big deal, seeing as how many other manufacturers do too, but they are offering a compact one now that is about 3/4 scale that is a really, really cool little pistol.
It reminds me a lot of the favorite pistol I ever had which was the Llama model XV. .22
I fondled a commemorative one today. It had some fancy engraving on the slide and came with some silly bowie knife for around $2k in a case. I told the counter person that I had absolutely -0- interest in purchasing it, but my request to see it was granted.
I noted that while the fixed sights were close to the bore, the notch could use to be just a little deeper and the post could be improved by being just a little higher. I do not know if the dovetails on this little pistol will accept standard 1911 replacement sights (probably not).
The trigger is definitely not as expected either...Maybe 5-6 lbs. pull - otherwise it's decent. Gunsmiths will be very happy with Colt's offering.
There is no shortage of cool stuff at a gun store (as is typically the case, I did not go in there looking for it), but this little pistol is one of the few things that was a delight to see there. A better trigger & sights and some 30 lpi checkering on the front strap would make this one a super win. $599 MSRP.
Life is short. Eat, Drink & Be Merry!
