like say this song

whats the writer trying to say?

a lonely moon type question

I think if you feel like you have been lied to all your life
or just lied to in general

or have been breathing stulyfied air for too long

feel like you have been trying to breathe underwater

holding your breath..

you may end up coming up singing this song at the top of your lungs..

The Logical Song
Supertramp

When I was young
It seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees
They'd be singing so happily joyfully
Oh, playfully watching me
But then they send me away
To teach me how to be sensible, logical
Or responsible, practical
And they showed me a world
Where I could be so dependable
Or clinical, or intellectual, cynical

There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep for such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd but please tell me who I am

I said, now watch what you say
They'll be calling you a radical
Liberal, fanatical, criminal
Won't you sign up your name
We'd like to feel you're acceptable
Respectable, or presentable, or a vegetable

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

At night, when all the world's asleep
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please
Please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am

Who I am
Who I am
Who I am

--

that last line bespeaks of a plaintive cry that is at once
a touchstone and hallmark of the agony and the exctasy
of youth

and yet a siren like serenade at the midnight hour
of all the glorious trappings of responsibility that rest
firmly on the shoulders of adulthood; irremovable

implacable

he wants to squueze all the zest out of life, like the way you squueezze
a lemon until the pips squeek

unencumbered; free at last, to think, to dream, to live

what do you think? right? right! (quite right!) you got a bloody right
to say-y

Well aside from allaying my strange morbid fascination with Peter Frampton (which I am now over) I got to listening to my Bernhard Gùnter collection just before departing. After 6 years, I'm slowly starting to appreciate it.

Also can't stop listening to Ryuji Ikeda's +/- album. Some amazing minimalist audio experiments there. I'll probably pick up some more of his stuff when I get the chance.

Last night I think I fell asleep to the wonderful words of Zug Izland and Adema.

Just about anything on Psychopathic Records
KMFDM
and lots of other things.
I miss Sister Machine Gun.

And if you think a strange Peter Frampton fixation is strange, you should look at people's faces when they see my playlist working it's way through Sevendust, followed by NOFX, then Phil Collins just comes out of left field, and then some ICP.

Honestly Sri I would have to dig through my collection, but off the top of my head the Melvins/Phantomas colaborative effort comes to mind.....very strange stuff, songs like "Good morning slaves" you know stuff to hum along to while bathing your pet.

Last few days I've just been keeping my playlist around ICP's "Bizaar/Bizzar" double album, Psychopaths From Outerspace vol 2, and Dark Lotus's "Black Rain."

i hate icp. if i could erase one band off the face of the planet, it would be them. but that's just me.
when they ask how you feeling
you tell em you feeling like something important died screaming
you tell em you feeling like something even more important arrived breathing
something you should probably try feeding

Right now I'm listening to Alter Bridge. Creed dumped that weenie Scott Stapp and got another singer - huge improvement.

Other stuff on my Ipod:
Jack Johnson
Guster
Breaking Benjamin
Disturbed
Dogs die in hot cars
The Faint
Guano Apes
Jestofunk
Lost Prophets
Neil Young
Oleander
Bad Religion
The Shins
etc...

The Faint is a cool band. They remind me of a cross between Trans Am and every 80's pop band, with an extremely subtle metal influence that surfaces in the guitarwork.

Playlist has shifted this week towards soundscapes and "world music":

The Faint
The Cure (am I happy? am I depressed? or am I just nostalgic for that gorgeous goth girl I used to date?)
Elend (imagine a more sinister Dead Can Dance)
Trial of the Bow (all instrumental ala DCD)
V/A Gregorian Chant
V/A Buddhist Chant (what can I say, I like this shit)
Godspeed You Black Emperor (the name is so misleading it must have been deliberate... this is basically an expiramental orchestra... not the least bit "heavy")
Ion Dissonance (ok, this is still angry baby-eating music... gotta have at least one)
"The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity." - W.B. Yeats

I think Im going to check this out. Check.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an elaborate charade produced by Paul O'Neill. The third disc in its Christmas trilogy is "The Lost Christmas Eve," and if you've ever wondered how it would sound to cross easy-listening ambience with guitar-heavy '70s album rock, look no further than this lengthy story-album. It often sounds like Meatloaf, but sometimes there's an Enya-like woman or a boys' choir, as on the lovely "Remember." It also comes in a trilogy package plus a DVD.

Just got the new Linkin park/Jay-Z "Collision Course CD. It rocks for only having like 4 songs on it. I did not like Linkin park before but this is a different use of their music so it is bearable.

I have been listening to Norah Jones
Alicia Keys
Busta Rhymes
DMX
Fugees (old stuff from "Nappy Heads" and "The Score")
The Black eyed peas
Hapa (Hawaiian Music)
Bruddah IZ (Hawaiian Music)
Celia Cruz (alot of remixes of her music are coming out plus I am into all her music anyways)
Ibrahim Ferrer (of Buena Vista Social Club fame)
Alien Ant Farm
Yellowcard
Rascal Flatts (a kind of bluegrassy, country, soul mix..interesting)
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
The Dead Milkmen
Jello Biafra (spoken word albums)
U2 (but not their newest album...just their old stuff)
2Pac
Coldplay
Passion is necessity. It is not diligence, or simply being committed to a goal. Passion consumes you while you chase down your goal. Passion should always be your natural state of mind for it is what sparks momentum and sets the pace.
